NDA Shortlists Candidates for AFSB 2016/17 (68th Regular Course)

The Management of the Nigerian Defence Academy has released the names of Shortlisted Candidates to appear for interview before the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) – 68 Regular Course.


1. The candidates whose names appear in this publication were successful at the Nigerian Defence Academy Entrance Examination held on Saturday 23 April 2016. They are to appear for interview before an Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) from Saturday, 28 May – 9 July 2016 at the Nigerian Defence Academy (Old Site), Kaduna. Candidates will appear before the AFSB in 2 batches as follows:


a.) Batch 1. (Candidates from the underlisted states are to report to NDA on Saturday 28 May 2016).

2. Candidates who fail to report by Saturday 28 May 2016 and Saturday 18 June 2016 for Batches 1 and 2 respectively, will not be allowed to attend the interview. Any candidate in Batch 2 who is seen around the NDA premises before 18 June 2016, will be disqualified. All candidates will be accommodated and fed throughout the duration of their stay for the AFSB.

3. All candidates will undergo a screening exercise which will involve certificates/credentials screening, medical and physical fitness tests amongst Only candidates who pass the screening exercise will qualify to continue with the interview. Thus, any candidate that fails at any stage of the screening (documents verification and medical screening) will be asked to leave the NDA premises. One or 2 representatives from each state of the federation including the FCT will be allowed to screen and authenticate the indigeneship status of all candidates from their states on the first day of screening only . Such representatives must come along with a letter of introduction signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). Details of the modalities for the indigeneship screening will be communicated to the Office of the SSG of the respective States as well as the FCT.


4. Candidates MUST bring along the original and 2 photocopies each of the following documents:

-JAMB UTME Result Slip
-Acknowledgement Form and NDA Examination Admission Card.
-Academic Certificates / Statements of Result and Testimonials for Primary and Secondary Schools (Junior and Senior).
-Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age, preferably Birth.
-Letter of Attestation of State/Local Government Indigeneship duly signed by the SSG or Chairman of Local Government, as the case may Certification obtained from a military officer from the candidate’s state of origin, who must be of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and above or equivalent in the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force, may be used in place of Local Government Indigeneship Certificate. In this case, the officer must indicate his formation/unit, appointment, contact address, phone numbers and e-mail address. The officer must also affix formation/unit stamp and sign.
-Letter of Consent from Parent/Guardian.


5. Candidates are to download both the Attestation and Letter of Consent Forms from the NDA applications portal/NDA website and complete Candidates who fail to bring along the documents listed above will be disqualified. Any alterations on the documents will attract outright disqualification .


6. Candidates are to also bring along the following items:

-Writing materials
-Three blue shorts and 3 white (round-neck) T-shirts.
-A pair of white canvas shoes and 3 pairs of white
-Non-refundable fee of N2, 00 each for verification/confirmation of results at WAEC/NECO.
-Scratch cards for WAEC and/or NECO results for online confirmation of
-Four recent coloured passport
-The second copy of Postcard Photograph that was presented and endorsed at the Exam Centre during the NDA Entrance
-Transport money to and from.

NDA Extends Fresh Postgraduate Students Registration Deadline – 2015/16




This is to inform all the newly admitted postgraduate students of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) that the management of the institution has extended the registration deadline earlier set for April 9, 2016.

The new registration deadline is now Friday, 29th April, 2016.

Students that are yet to complete their registration can now make use of this opportunity.

This is to inform all the candidates that applied for the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 68th Regular Course admission exercise that the management of the institution has released the names of applicants that are eligible to participate in its entrance examination.
The names of successful applicants are available HERE (.pdf). You will need a device that is capable of accessing a PDF file to access the list.
If your name is on the list, rush down to a business centre/cybercafe to select your exam centre and also print your exam card.

NDA Exam Centres Selection & Printing of Exam Cards – 2016/17

Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA exam centres selection has commenced for shortlisted applicants.

The authorities of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) have announced that shortlisted applicants can proceed to select their exam centres and also print their exam cards.
Shortlisted Applicants should login at www.ndaapplications.net, select their exam centres and print their exam cards.


This must be completed on or before 3 April 2016 as the portal will be shut down by 11:59 pm on that date.
Note: Applicants whose faculties did not appear on their exam cards or acknowledgement forms should please reprint them.

NDA Investigates Alleged Unruly Behavior Of Cadets In Viral Video




The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) says it is investigating a video that has gone viral on the internet showing some military cadets beating a young man for allegedly complimenting a female cadet.

A statement issued on Thursday by the academy’s spokesman, Musa Yahaya, said that preliminary investigation into the matter has confirmed that the incident occurred somewhere in Lagos in 2014 while the cadets were on break.

The statement noted that the NDA, being a responsible institution that is saddled with the task of producing the nation’s future military leaders would not in anyway, tolerate such unruly and flagrant mistreatment of Nigerians.

It further explained that the current leadership of the academy would ensure that the matter is thoroughly investigated and disciplinary loopholes addressed.

NDA 2016/2017 Admission Application Form (68th Regular Course)

Nigerian Defence Academy 68th regular course admission application form will be available for sale from 26 January to 15th March 2016., and it is open to both male and female Nigerians.

Note: Read the instructions available on this page carefully.

NDA 68th Regular Course Admission Requirements.

The requirements for various undergraduate degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website / applications portal, as well as in the JAMB Brochure and website. All other information concerning degree courses, eligibility and examination centres are as contained in the NDA website / applications portal.
1. To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy, a candidate must have the following:
  • Minimum of 5 Credit passes at SSCE (WAEC or NECO) or GCE O/L obtained in not more than 2 sittings relevant to the Faculty of their choices.
  •  Credit in English Language and Mathematics.
  • At least one supporting relevant credit to the compulsory credits in faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Science. However, only one supporting relevant credit is required in the Faculty of Engineering.
  • Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old at the time of entry into the Academy. Note that Nigerian Airforce candidates must be between 17 and 18years old at entry.
  • Must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male and 1.50 metres for female.
  • Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.
  • Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.
  • Present a Certificate of Origin obtained from a Local Government Area and a Certificate of State indigene ship from the Office of the State Governor is desirable.
2. Furthermore, candidates are to note the following:
  • Awaiting results are not qualified. Results not submitted with the application for will not be accepted.
  • Only examination results of 5 years from date will be accepted.
  • Currently, admission into the academy is for both male and female Nigerians only.

NDA 68th Regular Course Method of Application.

Candidates should logon to the application portal www.ndaapplications.net. select “Purchase Access Code” and fill in their details to pay for their application via REMITA after first obtaining their ORDER ID and REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code in the sum of N3,000.00 only. Please note that only payment against RRR Codes generated via the application portal would be accepted.
Interested candidates are advised to go online and complete the application on the websites indicated above. Please download and read carefully, the Instructions provided on the website. Applicants applying for admission into NDA MUST also apply to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), but may not necessarily select NDA as their choice of university. Such applicants are expected to sit for the JAMB Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applications should be submitted online. On completion of the online application, candidates are to download an Acknowledgement Form. Upon release of the JAMB results, candidates should return to the applications portal and download their Examination Admission Card. Only candidates who make the JAMB national cut-off mark will be allowed to participate in the NDA Entrance Examination.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for various undergraduate degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website/applications portal. All other information concerning degree courses, eligibility and examination centres are as contained in the NDA website / applications portal.

EXAMINATION CONDITIONS
Only candidates who meet the JAMB national cutoff mark will be eligible to sit for the NDA Entrance Examination at their Examination Centre of choice.
The examination will be conducted as an Entrance Examination (similar to Post-UTME examination in conventional universities), and is scheduled to hold on Saturday 23 April 2016. Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Examination Centre on the examination date. The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back. Only successful candidates at the NDA Entrance Examination will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.


NATURE AND DURATION OF TRAINING
Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA). They will equally earn a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.


ADMINISTRATION
Regular Course cadets will train in NDA. All aspects of the cadets’ administration and logistics will be borne by the Federal Government.


REFERENCE MATERIALS
In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers at a token fee to interested candidates. This can be purchased from the Registry Department, NDA.
