• Ankara is a fabric that has been in the market for many years but not too many people paid attention to it because they felt it was for the poor and lower class and not prestigious enough. Even till today, there are some people  you’ll never catch in an ankara attire. One good news is that our local designers have been able to come up with beautiful and eye-catching designs that have also caught the attention of the international fashion world and that’s why some foreign designers fuse in the ankara fabric into their designs.

Most men are not very fashion conscious like the women(I stand to be corrected) and do not really patronize the ankara fabric. Right now fashion designers are making really sophisticated styles and use other materials such as lace of all kinds, denim,  silk, brocade, chiffon, velvet, and lots more.
