FASHION-Rules for wearing Animal Print

Rules for wearing Animal Print

When you look back, animal print was majorly worn by Ancient Africans, you know; Village heads, Royalties or Hunters. But this trend has somehow worked its way into the fashion world.
Animal prints have been around since the 60’s and it doesn’t look like it will be going out of style anytime soon. There’s something about it that screams Sexy, Fierce and Attractive all at the same time, but wearing animal print can be very risky, one mistake can take you from fashionista to fashion disaster so it’s important that you wear it right.
Tricks to wearing Animal prints the right way:

1.  Watch out for Double Prints

It’s a lot safer to avoid wearing double prints. Pair your animal prints with solid colors like black, red, yellow, purples, you name it! If you want to wear print without drawing so much attention to yourself, cool it down with a plain color.

2.  It is safe to know your Prints

Each animal skin has different spots, patterns, background colors, etc, that makes it easier when mixing or pairing your fabric. It is better to know what colors match your under tone prints.

3.  Over size it

Choose pieces that are faded, understated and not so tight for a casual look.
According to Lynn, a fashion blogger, A longer skirt just below the knee in leopard is sexier than a short one because the more you get out of the animal print the more elegant it looks.

4.  Wear it Differently

An animal print scarf, bag, shoes, necklace etc, all make for awesome accessories, but not all at the same time. Its safer to hit the spot in small doses unless you think you can make it work, because the print will swallow you whole.

5.  Accessorize wisely

Don’t let your accessories be in conflict with your animal prints. If you’re wearing animal print the rest of your outfit should be a bit simpler. Balance everything out and be sure to avoid over accessorizing your look.

6.  Freshen up your colors

Animal prints come in different colors, do something different by wearing animal patterns in hazy subdued colors. Go for a muted purple or gray for a more elegant and sophisticated look.
