Senator Ben Murray-Bruce representing Bayelsa east
in the National Assembly has revealed that his father borrowed him
N20,000 in 1980 to start his business, Silverbird Group.
The chairman of Silverbird group shared his story via his twitter handle ‘@ben murray-bruce’. Read his tweets below:
The company which was established in 1980 by Ben Murray-Bruce has
gone on to be one of the most popular entertainment companies in
Nigeria.
He said his story is evidence that you do not need to steal to make
it in Nigeria and if anyone has evidence that he stole to build his
organization the person should show evidence.
Just recently, the senator advised President Buhari and first-term governors to stop blaming their predecessors in office for the misfortunes of Nigeria.
Murray-Bruce stressed that six months was one eighth of the four-year tenure given to them, adding that “if you are still blaming your predecessor after 6 months, when are you going to ever deliver the goods?”
Meanwhile, Bruce’s Silverbird group will be celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.
The company is a Nigerian multinational real estate, media and entertainment company headquartered in Lagos. The company is the official organizer of the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (MBGN) beauty pageant and Mr Nigeria.
