Friday Ekpo, an ex-Super Eagles’ player said it was a well-deserved reward for the players, who exhibited their skills and technicality all through the competition.
“Congratulations to the boys for winning the world cup back to back. The entire nation is proud of them and we wish them well in their future endeavours,’’ he said.
Micheal Adjuya, a Brazil-based football scout told NAN via telephone from Brazil that he was not surprised at the team’s victory, noting that the team possessed what other countries in the competition lacked.
Adjuya commended the coach for his technical prowess and an in-depth knowledge of handling the team.
“I had no fears from day I watched the boys play first match. The team had something that no other team had and that is their hunger for victory.
“They, not only played for their fatherland but also for their coach, who understood and brought the best out of them’’.
Adjuya, who is also the director of Rock Solid FC based in Sao Paulo urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to do the needful by ensuring that the players were well utilised in future.
Royal Olajide , Secretary of the Women Amateur Football Association praised the boys for their doggedness all through the championship.
Olajide enjoined the NFF to work out modalities to ensure continuity in the utilisation of the players in other levels of that national team’s soccer commitments.
Nigeria had previously won the U-17 Cup in 1985, 1993, 2003 and 2013.
