NIGERIA’S first hair academy, Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute has announced that it will award scholarships to well deserving students to participate in its 2016 training session scheduled to commence on January 28 in Lagos.
Marketing Manager, Recare Limited, owners of Natures Gentle Touch brand, Mr. Kunmi Balogun, noted that the scholarship scheme is a Corporate Social Responsibility project inaugurated in 2010 and is open to young male and female students in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
“The objective of the scheme is to encourage and support young people who have interest and desire to learn about hair artistry. Through the scheme, many individuals are able to learn all there is to know about hair-styling and designing and are able to establish their own businesses and contribute positively to the economy,” he said.
Balogun added that the training program includes diverse courses ranging from hair treatment classes, advanced hair cutting, hair styling, hair colouring, advanced Salon Business Management, bridal styles, consultative selling and retailing among others.
He encouraged youths to take advantage of the opportunity to develop themselves and obtain skills that can help them attain an enviable status and profession in the society.

The scholarship is open to Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) degree holders in any field of study who must be able to relocate to Lagos for the course duration, as the Institute will provide accommodation for students from other states.
