Have you ever wondered why and how you are able to sleep and wake up? How and why you feel sleepy at early hours of the day and later hours of the night? How and why you feel lethargic when the sun goes down and energetic when the sun comes up? Well, if you haven't I will tell you.
The singular reason as to how and why you feel lethargic when the sun goes down and energetic when it comes up, how and why you feel sleepy at night and so wide awake during the day is because of a Bio-mechanism that helps in balancing the above mentioned functions, this mechanism functions like a "body clock", it is called the Circadian Rhythm.
That's not the only interesting thing, the circadian rhythm, this psychological function is observed in all living things_ plants and animals alike. It works through out the day; 24hours straight. Another interesting about circadian rhythm is that it can be altered, have you ever had a difficult time falling asleep at night because you were chatting or watching a movie?
Well then if your answer is yes, then the reason is because you had inhibited the sleep yourself. Your eyes are light sensitive organs being exposed to light, they tend to convey the neurological message to the brain that it is still day time and the body should be working and thus extricating sleep from the picture even as at 3:00am. We will all agree that this a not good for our health, right?
