THE FREEDOM DECREE- Nigeria @55

by Michael Sage

Freedom is non-negotiable I do decree,
However, at what price and when is freedom, no longer free. I ask this question because I am sure that we all agree, Our country has become so corrupt and full of anarchy. Our ruling politicians are causing chaos and unrelenting
strife, And expect us to march to the beat of their drums, and noisy fife. While they abuse our trust, our taxes and embezzlement is rife, And they make a misery of our right to a normal self- respecting life. When our guests from other countries both far and near, Have no rights and continually live with anxiety and also in fear. Our constitution and other human rights that we hold so dear, Are under threat by the ruling party who would like it to disappear. When Joe Citizen finds it hard to stomach the deterioration of so many things,
And our leaders believe that we are their pawns and they are the kings.
When an immoral, unethical, dishonest leader expects us to jump when he sings,
Is the reason that all creed and colors are looking abroad to spread their wings.
Our leaders must realize circumventing the law for self- enrichment is not the key,
If we want our country to be prosperous and to be revered internationally.
A leader’s job is not to dictate, but rather to be
respected, admired and be a trustee,
Of the land we love, with so much potential, a land which
should be freer than free.

D CoCo Master Reveals Two Things He Cant Break For Anyone

D’banj definitely is a man in his own lane, but it
appears that the singer has come under a lot of
criticisms since he part ways with his former business partner, Don Jazzy a few years ago.
Ever since D’banj went solo, the Koko master has been doing pretty okay as opposed to speculations.
The singer has sealed major multi-million naira deals that are quite mouth-watering as well.
Recently at 2Face Idibia’s FORTYfied concert,
Vanguard reported that D’banj was snubbed by his label ex-mate when he invited him to come along on stage to perform a song together…
D’banj shared a dapper looking photo of himself
moments ago and it appears he isn’t going to let
anything or anyone break him.

'All I got in this World is my word and my
ball’s. Ain’t breaking Any for no One … I
Only Trust in God.'

Sanusi Wins International Award

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has won the Global Islamic Finance Leadership Award.
The Bahrain-hosted fifth Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) held at the Gulf Hotel, Manama on September 28.
Emir Sanusi receives the Global Islamic Finance Leadership Award
Emir Sanusi received the award for his advocacy of Islamic banking in Nigeria and his leadership role in promoting ethics and social responsibility in Islamic banking and finance.
The Emir was a guest of honour at this year’s awards ceremony which was held in strategic partnership with National Bank of Kazakhstan.

The Emir of Kano was a guest of honour at the
ceremony.
Recently, the name, Emir of Kano has been on the lips of many Nigerians following his marriage to an 18-year- old princess . Sanusi secretly tied the knot with Sa’adatu
Barkindo-Musdafa, the daugther of the Lamido of Adamawa. Some Nigerians came down hard on the Emir, condemning the marriage . Some said marrying an 18 year old is like eating a chicken that just hatched while others referred  to him as a sugar daddy.

Responding to his critics, the Emir of Kano had explained his reason for picking an 18-year-old girl as his fourth wife, saying that those who see something filthy about the sacred bond, should buy themselves new
brain.

Reasons why Buhari Is Petroleum Minister- APC

Otunba Henry Ajomale, the chairman of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos state, has said President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to appoint himself as petroleum minister was due to the president’s knowledge about the sector, haven served as a former minister of petroleum resources in the 80s.

Otunba Ajomale said the need to protect the sector from massive looting which was the norm in past administrations could have also informed Buhari’s decision to appoint himself as minister.

Speaking to journalist at a Yoruba leadership summit yesterday, September 30, at the Airort Hotel, Ikeja Lagos, he said President Buhari decided to be minister of Petroleum so as to “keep the wolfs out and use the resources in a way that is going to develop this
country”.

The APC chieftain cautioned Nigerians against criticising the president for stepping into the crucial role, adding that “ things are getting better in that sector now and if he becomes the head of that sector you will see the change and whatever we are getting is not going to somebody’s pocket again its going to go directly to the use of Nigerians”.
He said he had no problems with Buhari’s decision to head the petroleum sector, noting that the president’s deep knowledge about the sector would benefit the country immensely.
Mixed reactions have trailed President Buhari’s
announcement that he will head the petroleum
ministry. According to him, this step is being taken as part of efforts to sanitise Nigeria’s oil industry, which is said to be plagued by corruption, massive fraud, and
crude oil theft. But some critics have accused the president of relegating ministerial portfolios to the background in the name of sanitizing the oil sector.

Nigeria At 55: We Are Stronger Together - Saraki

Bukola Saraki, the President of the Senate on

He urged them to remain steadfast in their support and be hopeful for a better nation.

He said: “Nigeria is on the threshold of greatness. The commitment and determination of this government is unshaken. As we mark the country’s 55th Independence anniversary, we must resist despair and come together
stronger. We must continue to value our common purpose to the betterment of Nigerians,
“The National Assembly will continue to work assiduously with the Executive arm of government to realize our development objectives. “Our priority is to build a virile socio-political and economic environment and therefore bequeath a better country to our future generations,” Saraki stated.

absolute support to the military and other security agencies in taming the menace.

Little Walker Sues Porsche For Negligence In father's Death

Meadow Walker, 16, has filed a ‘wrongful death’ lawsuit against German carmaker Porsche for perceived safety errors leading to her father’s death in a car crash nearly two years now.
Meadow is the daughter of late American actor Paul Walker who passed in a fatal car crash in November, 2013. Walker was in the passenger seat and the Porsche Carrera GT was driven by his friend, Roger Rodas, at 94mph (151kph) in a 45mph region when it ran into a lamppost, according to the BBC.

The Los Angeles Times has it that Meadow is blaming Porsche for the accident, alleging the carmaker bypassed safety procedures by placing a 605-horsepower engine in the Porsche Carrera GT, an engine strong enough to do 205mph, whilst selling it as a race car licensed for the road.
Thousands gathered at the crash site to pay tributes to the late star. Credit: Daily Mail
Meadow’s complaint, according to LA Times, was that the Porsche had knowledge of the car’s record of instability but failed to install a control mechanism to sort out the issue.

According to the suit: “[Porsche knew the model] had a history of instability and control issues but failed to install its electronic stability control system, which is specifically designed to protect against the swerving actions inherent in hyper-sensitive vehicles of this type.”
The car model also had seat belts that were unusually fashioned so that they trapped him in the accident, the lawsuit said.

“[The car’s seatbelt] snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis, flattening his seat and trapping him in a supine position, where he remained alive until the vehicle erupted into flames one minute and 20 seconds later,” it read.

Meadow and her lawyers are pressing charges against Porsche Carrera GT for its “[lack of] safety features… that could have prevented the accident or, at minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash.”
Jeff Milam, Meadow’s lawyer, said she filed the lawsuit but will not comment on it.

“She’s a teenage girl who is dealing with the tragic loss of her father. The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car. It doesn’t belong to the street,” Milam concluded.
Porsche has not responded the lawsuit and allegations. Paul Walker attended the charity function on November 30, 2013 and was driven in a 2005 Porsche Carrera by friend, Rogers Rodas.
The star was already filming ‘Furious 7’ at the time but took a break to attend the event.
The fatal crash occurred at 3.30pm on Hercules street, Santa Clarita, California on November, 30 2013. In 2014, Rodas’ widow pressed charges in a related suit, blaming the accident on Porsche’s negligence. But the attorneys of the automobile company dismissed the allegations, saying the late driver was at fault. “Roger Rodas’s death, and all other injuries or damages claimed, were the result of Roger Rodas’s own comparative fault,” the attorneys said to Kristine Rodas.
