Thinking Negative-Positive is my Inspiration - Mugzy

WHO IS MUGZY?
Yea the names Reyne Brady popularly know as  "Mugzy" im a hip-hop artist from Sydney Australia

WHAT MADE YOU REALIZE YOU WANTED TO PURSUE MUSIC AS A CAREER?
Well back in 05 so i think i was in yr8 of high school i use to be kinda a shy loner didnt have many friends an got punked an bullied alot
In that same year i got myself an ipod which made me listen to artists such as Eminem (from bein a whiteboy myself) 50 cent, Tupac to name a few
From their Characteristics & Aggression in the words they were rapping about it kinda gave me a voice to fight back a voice sayin f""" the world
So instead of doin school work i was droppin down small rhymes to pass the time BUT i knew if i wanted to progress i had to write full songs
Cut a long story short from those influences who gave me that voice to fight back and drop dowm those small rhymes
it has made me release 2 albums, radio play/magazine features worldwide, 12k fan base, & tones of gigs
So im thankful for hip-hop coming into my life because if it didnt i dont know where id be today.

FOR HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN INTO MUSIC?
About 11yrs

WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES YOU AND YOUR TYPE OF MUSIC DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS?
Alot of artists say "I KEEP IT REAL 100%" but most of the time they are following trends like come on what sorta BS is that haha
With me i DO keep it 100% like i grew up where msg and a voice was everything in hip hop So with my career ive always followed that path
Im not the type which is like "Oh you want me to rap about this cause everyone is doing it FINE" or "Oh you want me to dress like this cause everyone is doing it FINE"
Nope thats not mugzy.

AS AN ARTISTS, HOW WILL YOU DEFINE "SUCCESS"?
When ya make a living off it
When its your 9-5

APART FROM MUSIC WHAT ELSE ARE YOU INTO?
I love basketball specially NBA Chris Paul cp3 all day Wherever he goes i go thats my man right there
Also im pretty nasty on the court aswell so dont ball me haha
I love drawing comics too like making my own hip hop comics i think thats the inside geek of me haha.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE GREATEST CHALLENGE SO FAR?
I havnt had one yet

WHAT IS YOUR SOURCE OF INSPIRATION ? You probs wont believe me but my inspiration is thinking negative then positive
i think it gives me a realism factor about life and it also prepares me on things
Like example when i use to think positive it was "Yep im gonna get signed im gonna make it" not even realising the barriers that come with it
Now its like "Im gonna work my a$$ off for this i know its a cut-throat industry" but if it dont happen Well my life is f***ed aint it lol

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?
Hopefully getting closer to that dream

- WE WOULD LOVE FOR TO DROP SOME LITTLE WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO YOUR FANS OUT THERE, AND THOSE WHO ARE LOOKING UP TO YOU AS THEIR ROLE MODEL.-
I say this if you want to do hip hop & be a rapper & make music
Do it because you love it Dont do it cause its a phase or you just want to be like the people on tv/radio
If you love hip hop & put time/dedication into your work You have my full respect

-GIVE 3 SHOUTOUT TO ANYBODY YOU WISH-

First i like to give a BIG BIG Shout Out/Thankz to "Zever Xavier Emmanuel " for hittin me up on fb to do this interview with me.

Adele album on track for record sales

The long-awaited new album by Adele, “25,” looks set to break the modern record for first week sales, the makers of the benchmark US chart said Saturday.

Billboard, the music industry journal that publishes weekly charts, said that “25,” released on Friday, appeared likely to sell at least 2.5 million copies in the United States.
“No Strings Attached” by NSYNC, the boy band starring Justin Timberlake, is the only other album that opened with sales above two million since systematic weekly tracking began in 1991.

“No Strings Attached” sold 2.4 million copies in its first week in 2000 — a year before the launch of Apple’s iTunes, which drastically changed buying habits.

In a rare move that surely boosted sales, Adele’s label chose not to make “25” available through streaming, the vast-growing platforms that offer unlimited, on-demand music online.

“25” is still available for purchase digitally and sold 900,000 copies on iTunes in the United States on the first day, according to Billboard.

“25” also looked to be one of the biggest debuts ever in Adele’s native Britain, where the Official Charts Company said it sold 300,000 copies on its first day.

The only album with a bigger first-day debut was “Be Here Now” by Oasis, which sold 424,000 copies in 1997 — again, an era in which overall music sales were much higher.

“Adele truly is a once-in-a-generation artist. Her appeal spans age groups and genres, from children to teenagers, right through to mums and dads, uncles and aunties,” Official Charts Company chief executive Martin Talbot said in a statement.
The music industry has placed enormous hopes in Adele with “25.”

Her last album, “21” from 2011, was the top-seller in the United States for two straight years and is the biggest release in Britain so far this century.

“25” — led by the giant hit “Hello” — consists largely of songs of heartache and nostalgia, following the pattern of “21” which featured the tear-jerking ballad “Someone Like You.”

Dangote Cement: Putting Smiles on Customers' Faces with N300m Promo

Last week, Dangote Cement flagged off a N300million promo targeted at its customers all over the country in what industry watchers described as a way of giving back to the Nigerian people, writes Festus Akanbi

The history of cement business in Nigeria will not be complete without highlighting the contributions of key players, like Dangote Cement. It is no longer news that the man adjudged to be the richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote took the greatest risks of his business life when he ventured into the business of cement production.

The risks has however paid off as the company has proved to be the investors’ delight on both the Nigerian capital market and also on the street as the distributors are making so much profits selling the company’s brand of cement. With a significant reduction in its price and its determination to continue with the production of the best available cement quality in the country, the company has no problem, maintaining its position as the one with the largest market share in the country. Sources claimed that Dangote Cement controls more than 65 per cent of cement business in Nigeria.

Giving Back to Consumers
Management of the company however last week said it is time for the customers across the country to also benefit from the cement company. Block moulders, and even those building houses also have the opportunity of getting compensated by Dangote Cement as it has commenced a N300 million promo that is targeted at 3,783 customers. The promo will run for three months and it is expected to daily produce two millionaires.
Two prizes of one million naira each will be won daily for 90 days by 180 lucky winners for the duration of the promo while a whopping N30 million will be won by a lucky winner every month.

Explaining details of the promo at the media launch, Dangote Group’s Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Oare Ojeikere said: “To be part of the promo, all it requires is for the customer to buy a bag of cement and cut out the token at top right of bag. Five tokens will make one entry in the draw. Each entry of 5 tokens must be attached to a piece of paper with the participant’s name, phone number and address, placed in a sealed envelope and dropped off at a designated Drop Centre.”

He further revealed that 400 Dangote locations and all Access Bank branches nationwide, will function as Drop Centres for the entries.

Executive Director, Stakeholders and Corporate Communications, Eng. Mansur Ahmed described the promo as Dangote cement’s way of saying thank you to its teeming customers. He said though Dangote Cement remains the best in terms of quality and even pricing in the country, the company still felt so strongly that the customers ought to be appreciated for their love, support, encouragement and even patronage over the years.

Mansur said customers is key in the business and the love and respect the company has for its customers made it reduce its price and also increase its distribution depots across the country to ensure that the products are in all the nooks and crannies of the country.

He further assured the customers that the management of Dangote Cement will continue to look for new ways of enhancing their value as the level of acceptability of its products remains unprecedented in the history of Cement business in Nigeria.
Ojeikere said that Dangote has met all the basic requirements relating to the promo, adding that all the relevant regulatory agencies concerned on the promo have given their nod to start the promo.

No to Hoarding
His words: “On hoarding of cement supply, the possibility that that one will happen, I will say it’s quite slim because we are in a season where we sell right now maybe 100,000 or 200,000 metric tonne less than what we sell during the peak season.

Our peak season usually is in the dry months of March and April and early May. So, we are still 150,000 metric tonne less than we totally sell. So, if you try and hoard cement product, your neighbour will not hoard it and the smart move right now is actually the ability to sell because what we have done for our partners is that we pay them more for big volumes.

There is a big incentive for our partners to actually carry our cement products. So, I do not envisage any major cases of hoarding I doubt this very much.” On the fear of if the price of cement will increase, Ojeikere said: “I was in Port Harcourt on Sunday, cement sold for N1,380 per bag at N1, 380 which is almost N55 less than what we sell at ex depot price which I think is a good thing.

And that is the same story we see every day across the country. And today, there is more than enough cement for people to buy. There is no more motivation to hoard or to increase the price of cement. My advice is that if somebody tries to sell to you cement higher than N1, 400 or N1, 450 go somewhere else you will get it.”

Dangote Cement is Africa’s leading cement producer with three plants in Nigeria and recently opened factories in Ethiopia, Zambia, South Africa, Senegal and Cameroon. It is a fully integrated quarry-to-customer producer with production capacity of 29.25Mta in Nigeria.

Its Obajana plant in Kogi state, Nigeria, is the largest in Africa with 13.25Mta of capacity across four lines. The Ibese plant in Ogun State has four cement lines with a combined installed capacity of 12Mta. The Gboko plant in Benue state has 4Mta.

It would be recalled that the company for the nine months ended September 30, 2015 recorded a turnover of N365.5 billion, a 17.8 per cent increase over its corresponding year’s figure.

The company, in the same period exported 3.7 million metric tonnes of cement to neighboring countries. The export underscores the fact that Nigeria is now self-sufficient in cement production.

The Chief Executive of the company, Onne Van der Weijde while presenting the result said: “I am pleased to report that sales from outside Nigeria have contributed nearly 29 per cent of volumes so far this year and 39 per cent in the third quarter, which demonstrates that we are diversifying successfully and quickly gaining market shares in new countries.”

While revealing that the company has just acquired 2,000 new trucks to help improve its logistics capabilities and enable it enhance its export of cement to neighbouring countries, he said: “Our key target will be Ghana, where we already have an import terminal that is at present supplied from outside the ECOWAS region.”

The nine months unaudited results released on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) showed that the cement giants’ earnings per share rose by 18.6 percent to N9.80.
Profit before tax at N166.9 billion for the nine months ended 30th September 2015 represents an increase of 8.4 percent compared to N154 billion in the 2014 corresponding period.

A breakdown of the results indicated that the cement group posted an operating profit of N173.5 billion, 6.8 percent higher than N162.5 billion generated in 2014. Nigerian operations accounted for N162.7 billion, West & Central Africa N2.9 billion, while South & East Africa did N7.4 billion.

Nigeria loses N256bn monthly to oil price crash- CBN Gov

The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, at the annual Bankers’ Dinner organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria disclosed on Friday night, talked about how the nation is losing N256bn monthly to pil price crash.

He said:
“Given the sharp fall in oil prices, federation allocation to states have dropped by an average of about N2bn for each month.
“Similarly, average inflows of foreign exchange into the CBN have fallen to by about $1.3bn per month; this has led to a sharp decline in our forex reserves from as high as $37bn as at June 2014, to $30bn.
He said the nation needs to stop to importing everything. He encouraged Nigerians to patronize locally made goods.
Despite the huge drop in the nation’s forex earnings as a result of the fall in crude oil prices, the CBN boss said Nigeria’s import rose to N917bn in September and might likely hit N1.2tn in December.

He said:
“Nigeria cannot continue on this path of importing everything and anything. Indeed, it is both unacceptable and unsustainable and that was the reason we decided at the central bank to prohibit items we can produce here from accessing forex from the central bank.
“The last time we had oil prices at $50 per barrel for an extended period of time was in 2005 and our total import bill for that year was only N148bn. Yet, in the first nine months of this year, our total import bill has already risen to N917bn, and by logical extension, it is heading towards N1.2tn by the end of the year.
“The CBN will in due course embark on a national campaign called PAVE which stands for: Produce Locally, Add Value and Export. We definitely cannot survive as a people by importing everything and anything.’’

THE CELEBRATION OF CHRIST THE KING IN MAKURDI

This Sunday in the Catholic calendar is the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King, the last Sunday of the Church year. (Next Sunday will be the First Sunday of Advent and the first day of the Church’s calendar). It is implicit in the feasts of Epiphany, of Easter, of Ascension.

The feast of Christ the King is celebrated in the Roman Catholic church in honour of Jesus Christ as lord over all creation. This feast of was created by Pope Pius XI in 1925. This is a medieval feast which uses the metaphor of “King”, a powerful one in those days, to describe the role of Jesus. The Kingdom of God is the central teaching of Jesus throughout the Gospels. The word kingdom appears more than any other word throughout the four Gospels. Jesus begins His public ministry by preaching the kingdom. "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel (Mark 1:14).

BREAKING: STRIKE LOOMS IN BSU AS GOVT FAILS TO HONOUR AGREEMENT

All the unions in Benue State University including the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Non-academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) are gearing up to down tools over the failure of the state government to honour the agreement reached over the payment of earned allowances to their members.

The agreement was part of the negotiations that led to the end of the 5 month strike by ASUU and other unions earlier in the year. In the agreement, the government promised to pay the 6 years earned allowances owed the workers in 6 installments beginning from October 2015, while ensuring continual payment of monthly salaries and earned allowances.

However, We gathered that as at last week when the workers received their October 2015 salaries, the government had not just failed to pay the first installment of the arrears of earned allowances, they also didn’t pay those for October 2015.

One of the lecturers who wouldn’t like his name to be mentioned said this development was unfortunate and could result in yet another strike action.
“The government has neither commenced the agreement nor have they paid earned allowances for October across all the unions in the university. The is spells trouble and the earlier they resolved this, the better for them.”

He said all these were without an official letter from the government to the union and that they were bidding time to receive an official explanation from the government or an industrial action will be inevitable.

NIMC moves to integrate BVN data

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has concluded plans to integrate the Bank Verification Number (BVN) in the national identity database.
The Director-General of NIMC, Mr Chris Onyemenam, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

Onyenam, whose tenure expires today, said that the planned integration was borne out of the need to obey a presidential directive to harmonise various databases in the country.

He said that a hamonisation committee had already been set up to facilitate the integration process.

“NIMC is about to commence integration of BVN database to its own.

“This is in line with the presidential directive that various databases in the country should harmonised so that the country can operate a single database.

“This will make it more convenient to manage and update our data on a regular basis,’’ Onyenam said.

He said that NIMC had also commenced the process of integrating data of other relevant government agencies.

“We have also initiated moves to integrate agencies like the Federal Road Safety Corps, National Communication Commission, National Pension Commission and the Nigerian Police,’’ Onyenam said.

He said that NIMC would obtain the BVN data from the banks and process them through the NIMC system to eradicate duplication before issuing the National Identification Number (NIN) to the successful enrollees.

He assured Nigerians that the system would greatly enhance the work of security agencies and also provide government with the needed infrastructure for planning.

Similarly, Mr Ade Sonubi, the Managing Director of Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, a partner in the process expressed satisfaction at the planned data integration.

“It is good that the BVN is the first to integrate with NIMC, it means that we can enhance each other and we can start working with standards,’’ he said.
