7 Ways Men Break Up With Women That Are Completely "Off The Hook"

There are some uncool ways to want to end a relationship and if you are considering using some of these ways, we enjoin you to reconsider. Here are 7 common ways that you may have used or experienced.

The “Things are Just Not Normal Right Now”
This one usually comes out with the routine “you’re a great person, but it’s not you, it’s me” version of ending things. This is said as an alternative “ I like you, but I’m just not that into you.”

The Gentle Fade
This happens quite a bit and a number of us are guilty of this. When you find out things are not working out and you just allow the relationship to slowly and gently fade away. It’s one of those places where you both keep trying to make it work but it never just seem to gell. Nonetheless, it’s not a pretty way to let a relationship go.

Text Message
This method of ending a relationship became innovative by the turn of the millennium. In truth, using this medium to break up with your partner is relieving since it eliminates face to face and voice conversation. The downside with this however is that the person you’re breaking up with will feel disrespected. It gives off an “I don’t owe you anything” attitude which usually comes with the “sex was good but I don’t want us to do it again” attitude.

Ghost Method
This one is akin to disappearing without saying a word! The only method that’s more terrible than being dumped by a phone is not having someone to tell you it’s over. It’s more courageous to tell a person “no” than to leave without saying a word. Whatever you want to do when you want to breakup, don’t be a ghost please.

Improperly Timed Ending
Some people tend to unconsciously schedule their breakup to a period that would hold much memories for their partners. It could be Christmas, last day of the year or Valentine’s day. For some others, it could be the period their partners just lost a loved one, their job or something dear to them. This is very much uncool but still remains something to be done because there will always be a special occasion coming up that will probably make you justify the logic of not breaking up again. Find the appropriate time and spill the beans.

Quick And Sudden Goodbye
This one is pretty common too. It tells your partner that you’re done with them and you never want to see them or whatever you have left over in their possession. On the other hand, it could mean that you finally built the courage to walk out of the relationship but your partner is left alone going through all the gifts and stuffs you left behind at their place. Try doing it the appropriate way, so that the both of you can move on.

The Best Friend Betrayal
This one hurts in more ways than one. Not just because you’d lose a partner you love but you might also be saying goodbye to a long term friend you love. If you however feel they will make a good pair, your breakup may not just be uncool.

Breaking up these ways are not that good but if you’re certain you want to end a relationship, do it in a subtle manner that you both can remain civil to one another. A lot of the time, you’re usually better off without the person you breakup with but it is nonetheless, a difficult pill to swallow.

‘Smartphones to become extinct by 2020

GOING by the latest insight from Ericsson ConsumerLab study, Smartphones adoption is expected to go into extinction in five years time.

In its place will be artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is one exhibited by machines or software. It is also the name of the academic field of study, which studies how to create computers and computer software that are capable of intelligent behaviour.

According to the study, half of the respondents examined said they thought mobile technology would be redundant by 2021 as the growth of artificial intelligence starts enabling interaction with objects without the need for a phone or tablet.

According to Ericsson ConsumerLab’s Rebecka Cedering Angstrom, “A smartphone in the hand, it’s really not that practical. For example, not when one is driving a car or cooking. And there are many situations where display screens are not so good. Therefore, one in two thinks that smartphones will belong to the past within five years. The research lab surveyed 100,000 people across Sweden and 39 other countries.

Though, the United Nations put global population as at 2015 at 7.3 billion, the study disclosed that there are currently 1.9 billion smartphone users worldwide.

While record has it that about four million mobile phones enter Nigeria monthly, former Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Eugene Juwah, had put the number of smartphones in the country at a meagre 12 million. He called for more adoption to aid mobile ecosystem growth.

Meanwhile, the International Data Corporation (IDC) disclosed that 2015 would be the first full year of single digit worldwide smartphone growth. IDC predicted worldwide smartphone shipments would grow 9.8 per cent in 2015 to a total of 1.43 billion units. IDC updated its previous forecast to reflect slowing growth in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan), Latin America, and Western Europe.

IDC said the slower growth is expected to intensify slightly over the 2015-2019 forecast period and is largely attributed to lower shipment forecasts for Windows Phone as well as “alternative platforms” (phones running operating systems other than Android, iOS, and Windows Phone).

According to it, China has been the focal point of the smartphone market in recent quarters, as its economic slowdown has dampened worldwide growth due to the sheer size of the market. However, IDC maintained its view that China has largely become a replacement market. As a result, shipment growth in China is only forecast to be in the low single digits. The Middle East and Africa (MEA) region will see the highest growth in 2015 with shipments expected to increase nearly 50 per cent year over year, surpassing “hot growth” markets like India and Indonesia.

“With the smartphone market finally slowing to single-digit growth, maintaining momentum will depend on several factors,” said Program Director with IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Ryan Reith, “the main driver has been and will continue to be the success of low-cost smartphones in emerging markets. This, in turn, will depend on capturing value-oriented first-time smartphone buyers as well as replacement buyers. We believe that, in a number of high-growth markets, replacement cycles will be less than the typical two-year rate, mainly because the components that comprise a sub-$100 smartphone simply do not have the ability to survive two years. Offering products that appeal to both types of buyers at a suitable price point will be crucial to maintaining growth and vendor success.”

Research Manager with IDC’s Mobile Phones team, Anthony Scarsella, said as shipment volumes continue to slow across many markets, consumers will be enticed by both affordable high-value handsets as well as various financing options on pricier models.

Vendors will look to push device financing and trade-in options across many of the developed markets as growth in these markets is expected to primarily come from replacement purchases and second devices. Apple has taken the lead with its iPhone Upgrade Program, and several other vendors are expected to implement similar plans in the months ahead. These plans could represent the most effective way to get flagship devices into the hands of consumers while speeding up the upgrade cycle through trade-in and incentives”,
Scarsella stated.

2015 WAEC GCE Result Statistics: 48% Passed

Gentlemen of the media, on behalf of the Management and staff of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), I welcome you all to this press briefing which is my first with you. Permit me to use this opportunity to express our deep appreciation to you all for your support and cooperation in our efforts at fulfilling the Council’s mandate to the nation.

As part of the efforts of the Council to continue to protect the integrity of its examinations, and to remain many steps ahead of perpetrators of examination malpractice, the Council, beginning with the November/December 2015 WASSCE, deployed another cutting-edge technology in the conduct of its examinations. This newly deployed technology is called “CredenceOne”.

It is the intersection of mobile communications and biometric technology. It is a mobile biometric identification and verification system, built on the Android Operating System. Using “CredenceOne” is as simple as using a mobile phone. It is used to initiate and complete the biometric verification of candidates’ fingerprints. The device is programmed to compare the scanned fingerprint template with the initial templates captured during registration and display the candidate’s details to check impersonation. The system also takes candidates’ attendance and automatically sends the records online to the remote central server for reporting. With this innovation, we can boldly say that WAEC, Nigeria now has its biometric fingerprint identification and verification system on a mobile device.

The November/December 2015 WASSCE was concluded on October 9, 2015, while Coordination of examiners and Marking of candidates’ scripts for the examination took place between October 29 and November 19, 2015 at 20 marking venues. The Council also undertook the electronic marking of the scripts of candidates in some subjects at two venues.

May I use this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to all the supervisors, invigilators, custodians, security agencies and other ad-hoc personnel for their commitment and dedication to duty during the conduct of the examination. I, equally, thank our Chief Examiners, Team Leaders, Assistant Examiners and Checkers for their dedication and commitment during the Coordination and Marking exercise.

Today, gentlemen of the media, I am glad to announce the release of the results of the November/December 2015 WASSCE for Private candidates in Nigeria.

A total of 237,154 candidates sat the
examination, consisting of 124,512 male and 112,642 female candidates. This number included 37 visually challenged candidates. Out of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, 235,542 candidates, representing 99.32% have their results fully processed and released. 1,612 candidates, (representing 0.68%) have a few of their subjects still being processed due to some errors, traceable mainly to the candidates in the course of registration or writing the examination. Such errors are being corrected by the Council to enable the affected candidates have their results.

Of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, 79,490 candidates, representing 33.51% obtained 6 credits and above; 113,573 candidates, representing 47.88% obtained 5 credits. In addition, 146,253 candidates, representing 61.67% obtained credits and above in 4 subjects, while 175,718 candidates, representing 74.09% obtained credits and above in 3 subjects. A total of 200,304 candidates (84.46%) obtained credits and above in 2 subjects.

Furthermore, the results of 28,768 candidates, representing 12.13%, are being withheld for further investigation in connection with various cases of examination malpractice. The reports of the investigations will be presented to the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) of the Council for consideration. The Committee’s decisions will be communicated to the affected candidates in due course.

Candidates in the examination will be able to check the details of their performance on the Council’s results website: www.waecdirect.org within the next 24 hours.
Gentlemen of the media, I owe it as a duty and responsibility to commend the staff of the Council, for their dedication to duty. This contributed immensely to the successes recorded during the conduct of the examination, marking of scripts and processing of the results of the November/December 2015 WASSCE (Private). I most sincerely thank these worthy staff.

Gentlemen of the media, once again, on behalf of the Management of the Council, I thank you very much for coming. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year in advance.
