The New Infinix Zero 3 Has A Price Tag of ₦46,000 (For Now)

 

Infinix Zero 3 was launched last week and it is Infinix Mobility’s most expensive device till date. With features and specifications that puts it in the upper division of middle-range devices, Infinix Zero 3’s price tag was announced in a tweet today by Infinix Mobility:

One thing to note is that we’re not sure if this is the recommended retail price or promotional since the tweet says it’s in “limited qty.” At the launch event, the company chose not to announce the price of the new product. Although the device has specifications likened to high-end devices, there has been comments on social media suggesting that a price tag of ₦46,000 is on the higher side.

Infinix Zero 3 is a 4G, 5.5 incher and has a 3GB RAM, a 2.0GHz octa-core MTK Helio X10 processor, the same processor found on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. It also features a 20.7MP camera capable of shooting 4K videos.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Pictures Leak, Rumored To Have Iris Scanner

Samsung Galaxy S7 is one of the most anticipated devices expected to be released in Q1 2016 and the device has been in the news a lot lately. The device is going to feature the biggest feature on the iPhone 6s, a pressure sensitive display, and we reported this in a previous article. A new feature has been rumored to come with this device and it’s going to be the first of its kind on a Samsung smartphone.

Recent leaks suggests this device is going to be a lot similar to it’s predecessor and the design isn’t changing that much.

Samsung Galaxy S7 spotted on DHGate

Last week, Samsung Galaxy S7 was spotted on DHGate. The case manufacturer listed Samsung Galaxy S7 case on its store and the rendered image of the device looks pretty much like the leaked images we’ve previously seen.

The image shows a rectangular home button and the fact that this case is listed to work for the previously released Samsung Galaxy S6 proves that the company isn’t straying away from it’s current design.

Samsung Galaxy S7 might feature an iris scanner

According to a report on Android.com.pl, Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature an iris scanner. This means you will be able to unlock the phone with just your eyes.

It should be noted that Samsung Galaxy S7 isn’t the first phone to have this. Fujitsu, a Japanese brand, released  Fujitsu ARROWS NX F-04G earlier this year and it’s the first smartphone in the world to have this technology. Microsoft too later released Lumia 950 with an iris scanner.

Each human eye is different and the iris, just like the fingerprint, has unique patterns. By simply scanning the iris, this technology should unlock the phone and this might be the reason for the hike in price.

It was previously said that the upcoming device may not be as expensive as its predecessor but recent developments shows this device might be sold for as much as $700. The phone is expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress in February.

UNILORIN Gives 246 Scholarships During 2014/15 Session

University of Ilorin, UNILORIN awarded scholarships to 246 students of the institution during the 2014/2015 academic year.

In recognition of their brilliant academic performances at their various levels across all Faculties, the Senate of the University of Ilorin awarded scholarships to 246 of its students during the 2014/2015 academic session.

The breakdown of the awards, contained in the just published University of Ilorin 2014/2015 Annual Report, showed that the scholarships were awarded to 12 students of the Faculty of Agriculture, 32 students of the Faculty of Arts, 14 from the Faculty of Basic Medical Science, six from the Faculty of Clinical Science, 16 from the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, 37 from the Faculty of Education and 36 students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

 Others included one student from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, 13 students from the Faculty of Law, 16 from the Faculty of Life Sciences, 12 from the Faculty of Management Sciences, six from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 23 from the Faculty of Physical Sciences, 20 from the Faculty of Social Sciences, and two from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The Annual Report quoted the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, as explaining that the scholarship award was “basically to reward hard work and to serve as morale booster for the recipients while it will further motivate and encourage other students to strive hard to attain that great height”.

Prof. Ambali commended the University scholars and advised other students to attach seriousness to their studies for them to be recipients of the award in the 2015/2016 academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that the University of Ilorin is known for the best and pledged that his leadership would continue to do everything humanly possible not only to sustain the feat but also to consolidate on the existing achievements.

Ekiti State University Supplementary Admission List – 2015/16

Ekiti STate University, EKSU supplementary admission list for the 2015/2016 academic session is out.

The management of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) has announced the release of the supplementary admission list for the 2015/2016 academic session.

1. Go to EKSU Admission status checking portal at http://apply.eksu.edu.ng,

2. Enter your Email Address and Password in the required columns,

3. Click ‘Login’ to access your EKSU admission status.

Candidates who have been offered provisional admission for 2015/2016 session are given two weeks (weeks) from Tuesday 29^th December, 2015 to Monday 11^th January, 2016 to pay their acceptance fees as well as their school fees respectively.

You are to note that failure to accept the offer of admission and non-payment of school feeswill amount to forfeiture of the offer.  Accordingly, any candidate who fails to comply with this directive will be replaced immediately.
