6 signs you are not with the right person

6 signs you are not with the right person
A relationship is all about compatibility and happiness. There is no point in staying with someone if they make you miserable or they make you feel worthless. Consider the following signs and if you can relate to any one, you should consider where you are going.

6. They constantly remind you of the past.

Some people have it in their nature that they just cannot tolerate someone else’s happiness. They could be just jealous of your happiness or they are extremely frustrated over their lives. They will remind you of your past and even when you’ve become better, they will remind you of how you were once a horrible person.
Do you really think it is all worth it if he or she has to bring you down to feel good?

5. They compulsively lie to you.

Trust is one of the very important characteristics of a good relationship and what good is it if he or she lies to you? Imagine being left out of details or not knowing what really happened because they are trying to save themselves by lying to you. Do not live with such a person because no matter how minor it is, a lie is a lie.

4. They don’t respect your space.

There is no point of staying in a relationship when you’re are always on the giving side. If you feel that he or she comes to you when they have time, and not when you need them, then you really need to reconsider things. If you are not someone’s priority, how do you expect them to treat you specially? If they can’t take out time for you or be there when you need them, there is no point in dragging a one-sided relationship.

3. They don’t respect your ambitions.

They always say that if you can dream something, you can do it. Your partner should be the person who supports you on this. He or she should be the one who constantly motivates you to achieve big in life and if they remind you of how you dream too big or that your ambitions are not within you reach, let them go.

2. They suffocate you.

Being with someone doesn’t mean that they are entitled to keep you in a locked cage because that is not the point of a relationship. You feel like you are constantly put down and that you don’t have freedom. If you are scared of expressing yourself freely because they will judge you then get out. If they can’t love you for who you are, do they really love you?

1. They don’t believe in you.

Everyone has the power and ability to do a lot of things given that there are no negative forces constantly bringing you down. If you are constantly being reminded of how horrible you are and how you’re far from what you think of yourself, you will fail to do things that are simple.

Catholic Church Demotes Father Mbaka

Popular Catholic priest, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has been moved to a new duty post at Our Lady Parish, Umuchigbo, Njinike accompanied by hundreds of his parishioners admirers and well wishers.

He relocated on Saturday after he was transferred from Christ the King parish, GRA, Enugu where he had, over the years, built a cult like fellowship on the strength of precision of most of his prophecies and miracles recorded during prayer sessions at his Adoration Centre.

Father Mbaka prophesised the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of last election and also warned him last month of a plot to kill him.

His followers believe he's being punished. Mbaka himself said his new posting is a witch hunt.

As early as 7am on Saturday, a crowd had started forming at the Christ the King parish Enugu preparatory for the movement. Several lorry loads, buses and cars filled with people lined the streets as he made his way to Emene.

Band groups dished out music to which people were dancing. In fact, some were overcome by emotion to the extent that they broke down in tears.

Social and economic activities along major streets came to a halt. The journey lasted four hours. It was a triumphal exit for Father Mbaka as he addressed the crowd and said:

“I know we are going to suffer between now and a few months to come. I am going to suffer and suffer. I know that.
“I’m going to suffer because I have no place to put my head. I am going to suffer because I have no place to keep the Adoration Ministry’s assets.

“I know I’m going to suffer. Fortunately, it is going to happen in the month of lent. So, I am going to use my exit here as a Lenten observance but Jesus said it all in John 16:20 to his apostles that you will be sorrowful and the world will be rejoicing but very soon I will turn your sorrow to joy.

“But for now I know you are going to suffer. The Adoration Ministry is passing through suffering right now even though I’ve accepted that is the will of God. Is the will of God through suffering? It is a mega suffering

“The quantum of the assets of the Adoration Ministry is the only thing I am bothered about for now.

“Where am I going to keep them? I am going to stay in one small room that has only one small bed, one small table, little toilet and bathroom. So where am I going to keep all the adoration assets?

“My clothing and books I can keep in the car or somebody’s house but where will I keep these assets that I have given to the Catholic church of Enugu?

“But I say may God take the glory and whoever that has offended me, I have forgiven.

“I won’t fight anybody or even dream of battling anybody. If anybody allows the devil to use him, the same that advised you to make a mistake will laugh at you when you cry over the error. The baby is born, there is no going back.

“We are moving out. We have been doing it and we will do it again. Moses was going out with a rod in his hand, Mbaka is moving out with his Bible and this nobody can take away from me.”

I am telling you people as a courageous leader, do not be afraid. "We are moving and in not distant time, you people are going to smile."

Photos: Meet the Nigerian man without a degree who builds mini Aircraft

Nigerian man Aghogho Ajiyen from Delta state, builds Aircraft with local materials. Even without a University degree, he assembles these machines and make them to fly. He assembled his first aircraft in 1999 but didn't succeed at it. He continued and got better with his next try. He said he does his research on how to assembly aircraft by himself and decided to put it to test.

He even installs a camera on them which he uses to survey his environment and has developed his own special fuel for his aircraft. Amazing.

Who Brought ‘To Went’ Into Nigerian English?

ONE person says: “Give me a place to stand and I will move the world.”
Another person says: “Give me a place to stood and I will move the world.”

These two statements are two translations of the Latin sentence” Da mihi locum standi et ego movum movebo.”

Somewhere in that classic novel of the university campus KOLERA KOLEJ by Femi Osofisan, there is a doctor’s prescription:

To Keep The Campus Calm
Latin Is The Balm!!!
To keep Nigeria sane, Grammar is the cane!

There is another story to tell. All the animals were gathered to choose a volunteer animal to sacrifice each time a human soul departs the world for the world hereafter. Cockerel had left the forest on a long travel to a faraway land where he was assured that maize was specially prepared and brought to cockerels and hens on golden plates. And since he was not there to speak for himself, all the animals agreed that a cockerel would be killed to mark the passing of a human soul into the world beyond.

What I am trying to say is that when some of us were away so many things happened behind our backs. Steps on staircases became irregular and a danger to one’s physical uprightness. Comments have been made about this and builders and architects solicited to please restore our regular steps in staircases and cement steps in houses and public buildings. Now, the second thing that happened is that while we were away someone smuggled ‘to went’ into Nigerian English. Undergraduate essays, short messages and speeches are now riddled with ‘to wents’ to the destruction of understanding. Hence the question:

“Who brought ‘to went’ into Nigerian English?”
There are other questions to ask about this issue. When did ‘to went’ come into Nigerian English? My English teachers at Oyemekun Grammar School (that is Oyemekun English Grammar School!) taught us that ‘to’ is never followed by the past tense of a verb. I remember Mr. Ogbue alias I know my job, the principal knows I know my job, the government knows I know my job; May God Bless his soul and keep his tribe prosperous — taught us using Grieve etc text books. Mr. Fayose alias Mr. Bugubugu was not averse to wielding the cane to make us grammar sane! And there was Mr. Olu Falae, fresh from the University of Ibadan to fine tune our phonetics (Famusipe, close YOUR mouth!} We called him ‘brain’ because his name “fala, falae” in our pig Latin means ‘brain’! And more than the teachers of grammar and speech we were encouraged, no, we were made to read. Late Professor Omolade Adejuyigbe as senior librarian made me read a novel a week and write a report, which I submitted to him when I took another novel. Reading made me know and remember forever how a word appears on the page. So when you encountered that word in a different guise like a misspelling or a grammatical error, you remembered immediately that that is not how that word should be. You even began to correct books because you suddenly realise that grammatical mistakes can occur even in books!
So, when did ‘to went’ get into Nigerian English? I can hazard one guess. Everyone can hazard their own to help the historian of ‘to went’ to pinpoint the date in which it came into existence as an acceptable way of speaking and writing. I think it came with the first coup d’etat in Nigeria. So, it is the fault of the Nigerian army. They brought it into Nigerian English. Remember the grammatical blunders that were contained in many of their first broadcast usually beginning ‘Fellow Nigerians . . . and ending ‘We are all together’ even when we were biafrans apart!

No, it is not as if they decreed the new grammar with immediate effect. As in the process of the destruction of the physical environment which was achieved through neglect and the destruction of the moral values which was achieved through their example, ‘to went’ came into Nigerian English through example as well as neglect. Roads and bridges and railways and motor parks and airports and railway stations were abandoned and neglected. They rotted and our physical standards rotted with them. Promises were made and not kept. The Nigerian Army will not stay one day beyond its promise of handing over power to civilians in 1974. Then in 1976. Then in any nineteen you might like to pick. Each nineteen whatever the promise was made, it was broken.

And as if the country was not listening, we all expected things to remain the same. Under Babangida it became a game of dribbling. If I dribble you to the left and you think you can cut me off on the left my third leg has already taken the game to the right. Abacha even swore that he would not compete in a race he had set up the rules only for some five leprous fingers of the political gatherings to nominate him as their presidential candidate. Which nomination he gratefully accepted and promptly reward those who nominated him. As if the young were not watching and hearing their parents lying to them so that they could learn the art of lying from their mothers’ breasts. As if pupils and students were not listening to their teachers lying to them so that they could reinforce what they were learning at home with their teachers input. You must have heard about a couple who sought to stand in for their two children in an examination so that the children can go to university. We have heard and seen the government make budget arrangements for prayers from missionaries, pastors, imams and babalawos. Although we were told that the impossible can be done immediately, and that miracles take a little longer, it is no longer so.

Miracles are the order of the day. They come in big measures, in super measures and in mega measures. Miracles galore.
To get Nigeria back to sanity,
Bring back Grammar with alacrity!

Heavy gun battle between army and Boko Haram in Maiduguri

The Nigerian troops are said to be battling suspected Boko Haram terrorists as explosions and gunfire have been heard in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

According to Sahara Reporters, the insurgent have been attacking Dailori and Walonri villages, outskirts of Maiduguri, since 7:23 pm.

Some student of the University of Maiduguri residing at 202 Housing Estate are now running for their lives as the conflict rages.

Speaking with journalists, Hauwa Ba’na, a 300 level of political science student, said:

”We are crying in our hostel because the explosions are loud and everyone is panicking.”

Confirming the attack, a civilian Joint Task Force said: ”We are under attack by Boko Haram. There is heavy fighting with military in Dalori and Wanori.”

ON January 29, a suicide bomber suspected to be a member of the Boko Haram sect detonated a suicide vest at a crowded market in Gombi town in Adamawa state.

A vigilante leader confirmed the incident saying that 20 people including the bomber died in the explosion.

Meanwhile, President Muhammad Buhari, who is currently in Ethiopia, has promised that Nigeria will redeem its pledge of $100million to the Multinational Joint Task Force that is fighting against the Boko Haram sect.

Speaking at a high-level meeting of the African Union Peace and Security Council, the president noted that the insurgents’ capacity to conduct attacks has been “heavily degraded”.

“Our efforts are already yielding dividends and we will not relent until the terrorist groups are totally decimated and wiped out of our country and sub-region,” he stressed.
