Free Xbox Gold Upsets Chinese Gamers

  

Microsoft has announced that it will offer Gold Xbox Live service for free in China.


The news, however, disappointed some console owners who believe a subscription would enable them to access more content.
The BBC reports that China’s Xbox Gold service is very limited compared with other markets in order to comply with the country’s strict censorship laws.


The free trial was supposed to have ended this week.
China is the only country which has access to a regionally locked-down version of the free online Gold service.


Regular membership in most countries includes: Online multiplayer functions, free online games and discounts on others.


Online games still require government’s approval before they can be launched in China, which means that many are unavailable.

UEFA Concludes Draws For Champions League, Europa League

 

European football governing body have concluded the draws for the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.
Defending champions, Barcelona will face fellow Spaniards Atletico Madrid, runners-up two seasons ago.
Barca, bidding to become the first team to win the trophy two seasons in a row, will get the chance to avenge their defeat at the same stage two years ago when Atletico won 1-0 at home after a 1-1 away draw.
Paris St Germain, will face fellow big spenders Manchester City in the other outstanding tie, with the first leg at the Parc Des Princes.


Ten-times champions Real Madrid will face German side Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich will face Portugal’s Benfica.


Europa League
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will return to Borussia Dortmund for the first time after the sides were drawn together in the Europa League quarter-finals.
It will be the first time Klopp has returned to his former club after deciding to leave Dortmund at the end of 2014-15 season following seven years with the club.


Defending champions, Sevilla, who are looking to win the Europa League for a third year in a row, have been drawn against domestic rivals Athletic Bilbao.
Sporting Braga will take on Shakhtar Donetsk while Villareal will be up against Sparta Pargue.

Revert to Pencil-Paper Tests, Reps Tell JAMB

House of Representatives directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to return to the former pencil-paper method in conducting examinations for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions.

The House of Representative on Thursday, March 17 directed the Joint Admissions Matriculation Examination, JAMB to discontinue the Computer Based Test, CBT. The House said “technical flaws” recorded in the latest computer-based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination had exposed JAMB’s lack of capacity to handle the computer-based tests.
The House also wants the examinations body to run both the pencil- paper examination and CBT for candidates who should choose how they want to write exam.
The resolution was passed after a lawmaker from Lagos State, Mr. Oghene Emma-Egoh, had moved a motion on the “conflicting” scores of candidates who took the examination.
He said: “The House is worried that already, serious admission problem is rocking the nation because JAMB receives huge allocation from the Federal Government, they charge candidates all manner of fees and majority of the candidates do not gain admission because of the technical hitches of the CBT.” He cited instances of conflicting scores which was occasioned by technical flaws.
He said: “Foluke, the 17-year-old girl in Ejigbo-Lagos, scored an aggregate of 156 in the first result, while in the result that later came out, she had an aggregate of 196.” Citing another instance, he said Ibrahim Shawulu from Kogi state who scored 399 out of 400, but in less than 24 hours another result surfaced reducing Shawulu’s score to 199.
Other law makers while supporting insisted the CBT be made optional for the students.
The House which approved of the motion after it was put to a voice vote by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara also mandated its committee on education to investigate the matter and report back to the House for further legislative input.

The “It’s not you, it’s me” line
Probably the most cliché and overplayed line, very few people would appreciate this old and recycled excuse when they are about to be dumped by you. If you’re sure you’re the problem, it’s best you explain the exact thing about your partner that doesn’t gel well with your kind of person.
You most likely won’t go very far by telling them the kind of horrible person you are and how much you need to work on yourself in an attempt to deflect from the talk at hand. They will most likely respect you more if you are honest with them.


Getting Caught In An Untoward Act
Allowing your partner catch you cheating is one of the fastest way to get them to break up with you but it speaks volumes about your reputation. If your plan is to make them come up with a reason to leave you, you may end up having your plan blow up in your face if they choose to tow the retaliation path.
While Tipsy or Drunk
Quite a number of men go this way as having a few too many drinks might give them the guts to break the news of wanting to break up. This will be disrespectful to your partner because alcohol gives momentary courage at that point in time and you may likely regret the deed later on.
Chances are your partner may not even take you seriously and insisting on talking about it at a later time because they feel your state of mind is altered. It’s best to be sober and have a clear mind as you convey your points in a mature and respectable manner.
Through Writing

This is one of the most disrespectful ways to quit a relationship. Starting a fight as an excuse to quit a relationship will only get your partner to resent you especially if they end up finding out that you manipulated them by blowing a small issue out of proportion as a means of putting an end to the relationship.
During A Romantic Evening
Breaking up with a partner during a romantic night out will likely cause shock and confusion. The time out does not necessarily mean they will be able to handle the news better as that night will hold negative memories for a long time.
Not Being Straightforward
Beating around the bush while trying to tell her you want a breakup will only make your partner more confused. Even though it’s important not to be blunt so as not to appear like someone without emotions, it is still important not to beat around the bush. If you’re not sure about the right time to tell your partner you’re breaking up with them, they may be shocked and dumbfounded to find out through a friend or on social media.

This one only confirms your legendary status as an uncaring asshole. It also shows how much of a coward you are since you could not even grant your partner the courtesy of breaking up with them while staring into their eyes.
