10 Most Common Ways of Knowing Drug Addicts

1. Mood swings . Individuals who are addicted to drugs are prone to sudden mood swings depending upon whether or not they are currently under the influence.

2. Depression. During the “lows” of drug addiction, many individuals will fall into a deep depression as they ponder their situation, or await their next dose of the drugs.

3. Euphoria . Drug use can take individuals to points of extreme euphoria – making them seem giddy or elated at socially unacceptable times.

4. Criminal behavior. When an individual is addicted to drugs, he or she will do anything to obtain more. This may include robbery, selling drugs or other crimes that can land the individual in jail.

5. Sleeplessness. Many individuals who are addicted to stimulants may find it difficult to sleep while they are under the influence of the drug. Opiate addicts, on the other hand, may experience sleeplessness when they are going through withdrawal.

6. Unexplained absences. For many people, drug addiction is all about secrecy. These men and women use drugs in private in the hopes of keeping their habit a secret from loved ones or co-workers. As such, a drug addict may disappear for hours (or even days) on end without speculation. They have the option of seeking an exclusive private addiction treatment facility.

7. Anxiety . Almost every type of drug addiction causes some form of anxiety in the user. Whether it is nervous behavior caused by the drug itself, or anxiousness over finding one’s next “fix”, anxiety remains one of the hallmark symptoms of drug addiction.

8. Strong drug cravings . Once addiction takes over, the individual’s body will shut down with access to more drugs. That leads to very strong drug cravings that can take over the life of almost anyone – no matter how physically or emotionally strong they are.

9. Change in appearance. Men and women who are addicted to drugs often look different than before they began using. Drugs such as cocaine, crystal meth or heroin may cause individual to become emaciated – while marijuana may lead to weight gain for some.

10. New peers. Commonly, adolescent and teen drug addicts will begin hanging around with a different peer group when they are immersed in drug use. This means parents should be aware of the potential for trouble when their child begins spending time with an unfamiliar group of kids.

How to Make People Like You in 4 Seconds or Less

Within seconds of meeting you, people are already making judgments about your personality.

Those assessments can influence whether they want to hire you, date you, or be your friend.

So you'll want to do everything you can to make the best impression possible — before it's too late.

To help you out on that front, we checked out "How to Make People Like You in 90 Seconds or Less " by speaker and author Nicholas Boothman.

The book highlights a key strategy for ingratiating yourself with your conversation partner while greeting them.
The best part? The whole process takes just four seconds.

Read on to find out how to become instantly likable.

Step 1: Be open
Boothman says you'll want to open both your body and your attitude.
In terms of your body language, Boothman says you should aim your heart directly at the person you're meeting. Don't cover your heart with your hands or your arms. And if you're wearing a jacket, unbutton it beforehand.
It's equally important to cultivate a positive attitude. While you're greeting the person, Boothman says you should feel and be aware of that positivity.

Step 2: Make eye contact
Boothman says you should be the one to initiate eye contact, and let your eyes reflect your positive attitude.
If you feel uncomfortable making eye contact, he suggests a strategy for getting used to it: When you're watching TV, note the eye color of the people on camera and say the name of the color in your head. The next day, do the same thing with every person you meet.
Just make sure to look away at some point — as Carol Kinsey Goman
writes on Forbes, too much eye contact can feel rude or intimidating for the other person.

Step 3: Beam
Boothman advises being the first one to smile. You'll send the message that you're sincere.
Research also suggests that smiling when you meet someone in a happy context is a useful way to get them to remember you.

Step 4: Say "hello"
Whether you say "hi," "hey," or "hello," or use another salutation, you should sound delighted to be making this person's acquaintance.
Next, you'll want to extend your hand. Make sure to give a firm handshake , which generally creates a more positive impression.
When the person you're meeting gives his or her name, try to repeat it a few times. For example, you might say, "Sara. Nice to meet you, Sara!"

If you're meeting multiple people and can't shake everyone's hand at once, Boothman says it's possible to conduct a "hands-free" handshake. Do everything you'd normally do while shaking someone's hand — point your heart in their direction, say hello, and smile — but don't extend your hand.

Step 5: Lean in
There's no need to fall over into the person you're meeting.
Boothman suggests an "almost imperceptible forward tilt" to show that you're open to and interested in what the person has to say.

Health: How To Get Rid of Pimples Naturally

Pimples are a normal skin condition which affects many people. Pimples are an inflammation of the skin in which the sebaceous glands (oil glands) become infected with bacteria, swell up, and fill with pus.

Pimples generally occur on the face, neck, back and shoulders and though it is not a critical condition, it can make a person feel miserable due to their appearance.

There are various ways and methods to get rid of pimples, some are natural while others toxic (use of chemical and medicine).

The natural methods are safe and not dangerous for the skin and are the best and fastest way to get rid of acne.

Also, there are some foods that must be avoided for removing acne. These foods are milk, chocolates, sweets, desserts, cakes, fat and oil. You need to eat vitamins and minerals rich foods to get rid of acne.

Below are natural methods of getting rid of pimples within a very short period.

1. Lemon Juice

By applying lemon fresh juice to your skin you can easily get rid of acne overnight. Take 1 lemon and squeeze it in a bowl. Dip a clean cotton swab in fresh lemon juice and apply it to the pimples before going to bed. In morning, wash your face with lukewarm water.

2. Orange Peel
Rub the orange peel on the pimple for 2-3 minutes and leave it overnight. Wash the face gently in the morning.

3. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera leaf will also help you in removing acne. Take an aloe Vera leaf (gel) and wash it with fresh water then apply it to acne and rub it slowly like 5 minutes. Not only is the aloe soothing, it works as an anti-inflammatory, decreasing redness and swelling. It also has antibacterial properties.

4. Applying Egg White
The egg white can remove the acne overnight. Take an egg separate the yolk of egg and take the white of egg and apply to the acne before going to bed until tomorrow. In morning, wash the face with water and you can see that your acne become dry.

5. Honey
Honey is the best thing for acne. It kills skin bacteria. Dip a clean cotton swab in honey, put it directly on the affected area and leave it on for half an hour. Wash the skin well with lukewarm water.

6. Cucumber
Cucumber is a rich source of potassium and vitamins such as A, C and E. It also has a cooling and soothing effect on the skin. Cut one or two fresh cucumbers into pieces and soak them in water for about an hour. The nutrients, such as vitamin A, potassium and chlorophyll will transfer to the water. Strain the water and drink it, or use the water to wash your face.

You can also make a face mask by grinding one cucumber. Apply the mask on your face and allow it to dry for 15 minutes. Wash your skin with warm water.

7. Banana peel
Banana peels contain something called lutein, an extremely powerful antioxidant that reduces swelling and inflammation, and encourages healthy cell growth. Take the banana peel and rub in a circular motion all over your face. When you feel as though you’ve covered all of your face, let it sit for at least 30 minutes before rinsing it off.

8. Garlic
Garlic is an antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and antioxidant agent that can help in the fast treatment of pimples. The sulfur in garlic also promotes quick healing of pimples. Cut a fresh garlic clove into two pieces. Rub the garlic on the pimples and leave it for five minutes before washing the skin with lukewarm water. Repeat the treatment several times a day.

9. Baking Soda
It is the most powerful method to get rid of pimple overnight. Baking soda is a good option for all, but especially those with sensitive skin because it will not cause any kind of skin irritation. Make a thick paste by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with some water or lemon juice. Apply the paste on the affected areas and allow it to dry for a few minutes. Wash your face with warm water and apply a moisturizer. Repeat the process twice a day for quick results.

10. Steam
Steaming is wonderful for your skin at any time, but particularly when you have pimples. The steam will open your pores and allow your skin to breathe. This helps get rid of oils, dirt and bacteria trapped in the pores that can cause infection or inflammation.

Fill a large container with hot water and allow the steam to come in contact with your face for a few minutes. Rinse your face with lukewarm water and, after drying, apply an oil-free moisturizer.

Lastly, don’t touch your face (more specifically, your breakouts)

This means don’t itch, scratch, pick, peel, pop, or rub at your skin. It will help the healing process go smoother and more efficiently.

FG threatens to revoke licences of banks violating its ‘no sack’ order

Following the news of the retrenchment of 200 staff of Skye bank today, the federal government has released a statement threatening to sanction banks and telecommunication companies, that fail to comply with its order to suspend retrenchment. FG on June 4th, prevailed on Banks and Insurance companies to halt retrenchment exercises for now due to the hard economic realities.
The Minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige gave the warning at the 105th session of the International Labour Congress (ILC) in Geneva, Switzerland today June 7th.
“The federal government gave the licences to the banks to operate and if its directives are not adhered to the licences will be withdrawn if the need arises. We will go a step further if they continue. We know what to do. They need to comply. They need to come to the negotiation table. We halted the spate of sack in the oil industry and we succeeded. Even if you are going to lay off, there is a way to declare redundancy, there is a process. Section 20 of the labour act says it. You must call the unions and discuss with them. You don’t just treat them as slaves in their own country and you want us to keep quiet. We want them to maintain the status quo. As far as I am the minister of labour, I will protect the interest of workers; same to the telecommunication companies, they are also talking about compiling lists without discussing with anybody.”

Doctors to begin nationwide strike on Thursday June 9th

Members of the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) has said that they will be going on a nationwide strike starting from Thursday June 9th. President of the association, Muhammad Askira, announced this today June 7th. According to him, they are taking the painful decision of embarking on the strike action following the failure of the federal government to meet its demands of better working condition and better remuneration.
He added that the decision to go on strike was taken at the associations ordinary general meeting in Jos from May 30th to June 5th
“Sixteen out of 58 federal tertiary institutions or centres were exempted from the initial centre based strike for the commitment of the chief medical director of the hospitals to implement the federal government’s directives. If by midnight on Sunday, June 19, our demands are not met, all the members of the association, including those exempted, would join the indefinite nationwide strike. Due to the failure of the government to address the demands of NARD, it has declared a total and indefinite strike. NARD has to take this painful decision in order to highlight the plight of our hardworking members who have had to endure a long period of deprivation and disenfranchisement.”he said

MASSOB, BIM appeal to UN to divide Nigeria

Two pro-Biafra groups have appealed to the United Nations and other world leaders to divide Nigeria into six geo-political zones to solve the current crisis.

Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) stated that giving the six geo-political zones in Nigeria self rule would be the only answer to the many problems in the country.

MASSOB alongside with Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) called on the UN and other super powers to regard the lives of people that are killed on a daily basis in Nigeria arising from the insurgency in the north east and Fulani herdsmen said to be reportedly affiliated to ISIS and Boko Haram.

Chris Mocha, the spokesman, said the proposed nations comprise South East, (Biafra), South South (Niger Delta), North East, North West, South West, (Oduduwa) and North- Central.

He underlined that no amount of preaching on nationalism can change Nigeria as it is today.

Mocha added that when the proposed zones are given independence, assets of the citizens of the different countries will be protected by international laws, just as mutual agreements will guide the future relationship of the new republics.

Meanwhile, the group insisted that several of their supporters were killed last week during the Biafra anniversary at Nkpor and Onitsha.

It said: “ While all the members of BIM/ MASSOB in Anambra central senatorial district including Nkpor town in Idemili North Local Government Area celebrated at Ifite Dunu, our counterparts in Anambra North including Onitsha converged at the zonal secretariat, project site at Nteje in Oyi council area of Anambra state.”

The Biafra remembrance day celebration in honour of the Biafra fallen heroes who died during the Biafra/ Nigeria civil war of 1967 to 1970 and those who died during a peaceful protest and evangelism in Anambra, Aba Abia, Rivers and Delta states, turned bloody on May 30 in Onitsha, as the military, police, members of Indigenous People of Biafra clashed, killing over 30 people and injuring several others.
