The Bauchi state government has seized 22 vehicles from the four wives of the former governor of Bauchi state, Isa Yuguda.
According to Vanguard, this was disclosed by the chairman of the new government’s transition committee, Senator Mohammed Mohammed who spoke at the government house in the state yesterday.
He said the recovery of the vehicles was within the mandate of the committee, which has the power to recover all items confirmed to have been allocated and return them to the new government.
Senator Mohammed said: “we have so far, recovered a total of 22 cars from the wives of the former Governor, Isa Yuguda. We recovered 11 cars from his first wife, seven from the second wife and four from the third wife. We are yet to recover the remaining cars from his fourth wife who is currently out of the country.
“We will ensure that whoever is in possession of government properties will be forced to return them. We urge public servants and the general public, especially those involved in the disposal and allocation of the property in question to cooperate with the committee for the effective discharge of its assignment.”Meanwhile, the new governor of the state, Mohammed Abubakar, had vowed that he would ensure that all funds and property allegedly looted during the tenure of the immediate past administration are returned to the coffers of the state government.
Just last week, Yuguda advised the governor to start looking for ways to move the state forward and stop whining over inherited debts.

Governor Abubakar had alleged that his administration has been left almost penniless by the administration Yuguda.
Two weeks ago, the governor ordered that all the state government accounts be frozen and slashed his salary and that of his deputy by 50%.
