Barrister Akinwumi Olusola Arogundade the former Deputy
Registrar (Legal Matters) has been appointed as the Registrar of the
Ekiti State University (EKSU).
The Governing Council of Ekiti State University (EKSU) has approved
the appointment of Barrister Akinwumi Olusola Arogundade as the new
Registrar of the University. His appointment will take effect from 8th of May, 2016 when the current Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Ogunyemi would have completed his tenure.
Mr. Arogundade was born in Ado Ekiti on 4th February,
1963. He attended Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Ado Ekiti
(1969-1975) and Christ School Ado Ekiti (1975-1980) for his Elementary
and Secondary School Education.
The new EKSU Registrar bagged a Bachelors Degree in History at the
University of Benin, Benin City in 1986. He qualified as a Lawyer after
attending the University of Ibadan between 1987 and 1990 where he bagged
LL.B (Hons) and the Nigerian Law School in Lagos between 1990 and 1991.
Mr. Arogundade obtained his Masters Degree in Law (LL.M) at Obafemi
Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 2010. Before joining the services of the
university, Mr. Arogundade had been an auxillary teacher, Litigation
Counsel, Senior State Counsel at Ondo State Ministry of Justice Akure
and One of the pioneer Senior State Counsels at Ekiti State Ministry of
Justice, Ado Ekiti among others. The incoming Registrar had once been
the Personal Assistant to the Hon. Attorney General in Ekiti State .He
began his career in the university as a Senior Assistant Registrar
(Legal Matters) on 20th October, 1997 and became Principal Assistant Registrar (Legal Matters) on 1st October, 2000. He was appointed as Deputy Registrar (Legal Matters) on1st December, 2011.
The new Registrar was on that position until his new appointment as the fifth substantive Registrar of the University.
The new Registrar was once the Director of the Advancement Centre of
the University. He has served the university in several positions as
member of the Students disciplinary committee, member of the Staff
Disciplinary Committee, member Committee of the review of regulations
governing the services of staff in the university, Secretary Council
Technical Committee on the Report of the Visitation Panel, member,
Committee on Internally Generated Revenue of the University Staff School
and that of the Board of Governors, University Staff School.
Mr. Arogundade has attended several conferences locally and internationally.
An experienced Lawyer and seasoned Administrator, Barrister Arogundade is happily married with children.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, has since congratulated Barrister Arogundade on his appointment.
