You Can Now Send Documents Like PDF On WhatsApp Latest Version 2.12.493

WhatsApp is getting interesting by the day even though they plan to sideline some devices by year ends. This is one of the major reason a businessman will always want to use this app because of its simplicity and promising features. It’s now more than a chatting application… The latest version of WhatsApp now allow you to send documents like PDF from the attachment option.

This is kind of cool, but you need to update to the latest version before you can see this option.

How Can I update?
>>Update your whatsapp to the latest version 2.12.493 from Google Play or Download the beta version update here
>>Once updated, just tap the attachment icon in any chat and choose the new blue document icon, click on the PDF document you want to send and you are good to go.

Things You Should Know About This Latest Update

1. Make sure the person who you are sending the document to also has the latest version.
2. If you are trying to share the document to a group, currently, all members of that group need to have the latest version.
3. In your chat with the person, click on the clip (money clip) that is in the top right-hand corner of the app.
4. Select ‘Document’. The app will then show you all the PDF documents that you are able to share.
5. Attach the document that you want to send. The file limit of 16MB still applies. So if the document is bigger than 16MB you will not be able to send it through WhatsApp.
6. To receive a PDF document there is nothing that you need to do, save for having the latest version and an internet connection with data to download the file.

Aside of this, what else do you wait from WhatsApp?

RIP Nokia! Nokia CEO Cries Uncontrollably as Microsoft Acquires Nokia

Its so painful, and as I’m typing this, my handkerchief is drenched with tears because I was once a lover of Nokia phone. My first ever Nokia phone was Nokia 3310. It fell inside hot pepper soup and it was still ringing… long lasting battery life but today Nokia is now history.

During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop ended his speech saying, “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. Upon saying that, all his management team, himself included, teared sadly.

Nokia has been a respectable company. They didn’t do anything wrong in their business, however, the world changed too fast. Their opponents were too powerful.

They missed out on learning, they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big. Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big money, they lost their chance of survival.
The message of this story is, if you don’t change, you shall be removed from the competition.

Microsoft announced the purchase of Nokia’s phone assets in September 2013 — just weeks after Steve Ballmer said he would step down — and finalized the deal in April 2014.
The total purchase price ended up as approximately $7.9 billion, according to an April 2015 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Blackberry is about facing thesame situation and I wonder how their tears will be considering the facts that WhatsApp has already given them the deadliest blow to end WhatsApp on All Blackberry phones by 2016 ending.

It’s not wrong if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time, you will be eliminated. Nokia is now history... Who is next?

Rest in Peace! Nokia.

#StyleGuide: Five Things Stylish People Do

Style is specific to each person and today we show you ways to spot a stylish person. To be stylish, one doesn’t need to follow trends. Stylish people create their own trends as well as try out the biggest trends. Some shop regularly and some just know how to to mix items in their wardrobe effectively. They are interested in every aspect of beauty and take it very seriously. Not everyone is born stylish, some just grow into style by finding what works for them.

Here are five things stylish people do that makes them stand out from the rest.

They are experimental, pulling off different bold looks
A stylish woman doesn’t stick to one look, she might have a go to look or signature beauty look, but she is constantly trying new things. Taking fashion risks on the part of both designer and fashionistas is what sets trends. A really stylish person is able to go from heels to flats and still look glamorous while at it.

They have a signature Beauty look and Hairstyle
We have some stylish Nigerian socialites and celebrities who have proven themselves over and over again. For beauty looks Mo’cheddah goes with the natural blend and we must say it suits her graciously. Zainab Balogun is someone else who wears the natural look and sticks to it. Toke Makinwa on the other hand, goes with the heavy contour and lashes and it suits her perfectly. Whether professionally or self-done, her makeup is always fab.

Stylish people try almost every hair color even though they also have their signature styles.

Marilyn Monroe went with the blonde curls for most of her life. MTV presenter/VJ Stephanie Coker is usually spotting braids; and with Lola Oj, she is usually spotted with various hair styles even though her signature style is a low cropped hair cut.

They stay up to date with trends
Most stylish people go for fashion shows and watch the trends and start trends of their own. They spend on fashion items. If it’s makeup, they are breaking the bank. They also splurge on shoes, bags or accessories.

They pay great attention to themselves.
I am yet to spot any stylish person with bad skin. They spend forever trying to get a glow and look beautiful, the best glow you can have is great skin. With great skin the world is yours, they are also quick to share beauty secrets so you too can have the flawless glow of any fashionista.

John Terry Reveals Chelsea’s Weird Pre-Game Rite

Footballers and sportsmen alike are known for their weird pregame rituals, but Chelsea’s own might just take the cake.

John Terry, who has won four EPL trophies, five FA cups, one UCL and one UEL, has revealed that before a match, the players all use one urinal in the dressing room.

The captain also stated the ritual has prevented them from coming out early for matches.

“I am very superstitious and, for me, if we win a game then I add it on to my next superstition,” Terry told The Sun.

“Last season, as you can imagine, it built up to quite a lot. Me and Frank started it a long time ago; in the Chelsea dressing room we have three urinals and me and Lamps started weeing in one.

“We won the game and, for me, that was it, the next week there was a queue of me, Frank and Ash.
“The next week there were four of us and the week after there were five.

“And even now, up until today, you have Cesar Azpilicueta and Cesc Fabregas, we are all there in one big queue.

“A few months ago the club secretary said to me: ‘we have had a few calls from the FA complaining because we have been going out late’ and I didn’t have the heart to tell him it was because we were all waiting to go for a wee.”

I expect little from new FIFA president Infantino - Odegbami

Former Green Eagles striker Segun Odegbami says does not expect so much from the new FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.

Odegbami tried to run for the FIFA presidency but backed out due to lack of support and he has not said Infantino might not have so much to do because there are no problems in football.

Infantino was the former general secretary of UEFA before winning the FIFA presidency elections in late February.

Despite the spate of corruption cases affecting FIFA, Odegbami believes Infantino has less work to do.

He told the Punch: “I have not met him, but I have read what he said in his speech and I think they are accommodating enough for anybody expecting reforms.

“What I think I am expecting is that he will perform to the level of everything he has said in his speech and if he does that, it is very good for the game.

“I have little expectation because there is little wrong about the game; nothing has been wrong with the quality of world football.

“You can notice that while the whole corruption mess was going on, it did not disturb the flow of the game. There are no problems in football.”
Odegbami also said the problem with FIFA lies with its administration and not the game of football itself.

Gianni Infantino after winning the FIFA presidency elections on Friday

“Nobody will come into FIFA and make drastic changes or reforms in the game because the game is okay.
“The problem is the administration, finances, the authenticity of process and fraud; these are the things that scandalise the body and not the game.

“The new president has been with Sepp Blatter before and fortunately survived him, which is a lesson enough for Infantino to do things correctly this time around.

“I think he will not mess up, but rather try to justify the confidence that 270 countries around the world have in making him the president,’’ he said.

Odegbami, was a member of the team that won the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations. He wore 46 caps for Nigeria between 1976 and 1982.

Odegbami, who also captained Nigeria to 1980 Olympics in Moscow, is the second African to make attempt at FIFA presidency after Liberia’s Musa Bility.

Panic as militiamen, ex-militants invade Lagos

President Buhari did not renew the pipeline protection contracts awarded to militia groups by the Jonathan administration which is partly blamed for the militant invasion of Lagos.

Militiamen as well as ex-militants have invaded Lagos and are blamed for the rise in cases of kidnappings, robberies and other criminal activities in the state, according to intelligence reports from the police.
Sources in the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) told the Punch that there are strong indications that some of the ex-militants are responsible for the recent upsurge of crime rate in the state after they lost their source of livelihood when President.
Muhammadu Buhari cancelled their pipeline protection contracts.
The invasion by the ex-militants in Lagos is posing challenges to the police and other security agencies who are finding it difficult to control the proliferation of firearms in the possession of the renegade militiamen who have now turned to kidnapping and robberies as an alternative to make easy money.
“Since abduction seems to be profitable and less risky, jobless ex-militants and militia group members seem to have found a lucrative business in the kidnapping of hapless citizens, ” a senior DSS official said.
Under the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, six companies were awarded contracts to guard pipelines belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The pipeline security and surveillance contract, said to have been worth N9.3bn, was carried out between March 15 and June 15, 2015.
Some of the companies awarded the pipeline surveillance contract were owned by former Niger Delta militants, self-determination groups and prominent Nigerians including Government Tompolo Ekpumopolo, Mujaheedin Asari-Dokubo, Ateke Toms, Bipobiri Ajube and Ebikabowei Victor Ben (Boyloaf).
Others are the company of the founder of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) Fredrick Fasehun and OPC national co-ordinator, Gani Adams.
However, President Buhari did not renew the pipeline protection contracts awarded to OPC and other militia groups by the Jonathan administration.
Since then, Lagos state has witnessed series of robbery attacks between last year and now. There have also been cases of kidnapping, the latest being the abduction of three schoolgirls from the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, Ikorodu, on Monday, February 29.
Meanwhile, t he abductors of the three female students from the Babington Macualay Junior Seminary (BMJS), Ikorodu Lagos have reportedly reduced the ransom from 100 million to 20 million, This Day reports.
This is just as the police in Lagos have deployed several sniffer dogs in search of the culprits and beefed up security in schools in Ikorodu owing to the unsuccessful attack on Owutu Government College by the same gang.
The command has also deployed a newly acquired forensic laboratory vehicle to the scene to help analyse all clues recovered from the school.
Likewise, the House of Representatives has mandated the inspector general of the police, Solomon Arase to intensify efforts towards the rescue of the three girls abducted from Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School in Ikorodu, Lagos state.
The resolution by the House was sequel to a motion on matters of urgent public importance entitled “Urgent need to seek the release of abducted female students of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School in Ikorodu” sponsored by Babjimi Benson on Wednesday, March 2.

Time to re-write the APC Manifesto - By Dele Momodu

Article written by journalist and Ovation publisher, Dele Momodu. Read below...

Fellow Nigerians, something melodramatic occurred some days ago in Doha, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, where President Muhammadu Buhari dropped a bombshell inadvertently. And what was the matter? The President in his usual candour and uncommon honesty announced that one of his major campaign promises was no longer feasible and practicable; the plan to pay unemployed youths a paltry sum of N5,000 monthly stipend was thus summarily jettisoned.

Or so it seemed. To be accurate, what Mr President said with a wry smile was that this was a campaign promise of his Party and was one of the cardinal points of his Party’s Manifesto but he had not personally campaigned about it and it was not going to be a priority of his administration in view of other more significant and important challenges.
However, all hell broke loose on social media because the President’s body language actually suggested that the pledge was dead in the water and had not just been demoted from the list of priorities. There were several reasons why social and popular media became instantly agog with activity on this issue.

Nigerian youths took great risk to get Major General Buhari elected. They trusted him with their lives and expected the change mantra to become reality as soon as the People’s General regained power after being sacked as a military ruler in 1985. Truth is there are already some loud whispers in many quarters that lofty expectations are turning to a mirage and that things are already falling apart. Every explanation that it is too early to expect miracles is hardly treated with belief.

Thus when the President delivered this seemingly bad news to the expectant nation, it did not go down well with many people. First the location was wrong. I agree that such monumental decisions should not have been announced while sojourning abroad. To some it would appear as if the President was taking the easy pusillanimous way out. Perhaps, the President should have addressed the nation on home soil.

Maybe the President could have requested his ruling APC party to take the bullet for him by getting the Party Chairman, Chief John Oyegun, to talk to the nation about the need to revise the manifesto that was sold to the electorate with so much glee. There is nothing wrong if fresh realities have necessitated a change of plans. There is usually a world of difference between the idealism of opposition and the reality of being on the hot seat. It is one of the reasons I don’t envy the President on this present job.

Mr President and his Party would have to sit down urgently to reappraise things and come out with a tidier and clearer agenda containing the realistic plan for Nigeria and Nigerians in this dispensation. Sooner rather than later, the first year of this administration will come knocking. It would be disastrous if by May 29, 2016, we still cannot have a glimpse of where the government is headed or heading. The staccato, stop-start fashion by which things are being currently handled must yield way to a smoother policy manifestation and implementation. There are many things that need to be worked on speedily.

The first and most pressing is the economy. What is on ground now has been described by a famous economist as “Robinson Crusoe economics.” Like Robinson Crusoe, our economy is being handled like one man living alone on an uninhabited island but surrounded by cannibals and vermin. The economy is on a freefall, the sort we’ve not encountered before. My humble suggestion is that the President should assemble a crack economic team immediately. Those who wish to hold conferences can still do so especially as we know where similar jamboree conferences have gotten us in the past. However, it is obvious that some people have hijacked the misfortune of Nigeria and turned it into a spectacular goldmine.

“Voodoo economics” is being practised by those milking the country dry and their acolytes as well as by others wishing to manipulate themselves into the position of latter day economics experts and get a slice of the national cake. There are at this moment only a few sincere economists about and we should tap into these people but not make the mistake of putting them on the same platform with the evildoers lest we become unable to separate the wheat from the chaff. A nation that fails to consult and use its best brains is doomed and may be permanently jinxed like we seem to have been forever. In any event what is necessary now is not to make the country a debating society where esoteric and grand economic principles are postulated and propounded but a society where practical visionary and meaningful economic policies are garnered and implemented.

As young as I was in the days of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, I was aware that his best asset were the brightest brains he was able to attract and assemble. He gathered their brilliant ideas and merged them with his own. Leadership is thus an art and science of skillfully managing people and resources. It is even easier these days. In the age of advanced technology, where you can buy whatever you lack, including brains.

As advanced as Britain is, the Governor of the Bank of England was recruited from Canada. No one raised eyebrows because the most important thing was getting the job done. Our parochialism will kill Nigeria ultimately if care is not taken. Many of the voodooists controlling Nigeria know nothing about modern governance or managing an economy, not to mention an ailing one. What is worse is that they know that they know not but would not agree to allow those who know something to do anything.

The time has come to declare an emergency on an evil economic apparatus foisted on us by selfish people that may end up ruining our otherwise great country. I believe we should rise above partisan politics and bring our past and present geniuses together including The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, The Governor of the Central Bank, Mr Godwin Emefiele, The Emir of Kano, His Highness Lamido Sanusi, Professor Charles Soludo, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, Professor Part Utomi, Mr Bismark Rewane, and some of our brilliant University dons to fashion out a way out of this scandalous debacle.

The next thing is for this government to reflect true frugality and shed the toga of prodigality that is already rearing its ugly head. The President should be alerted about how those outside now believe he has already joined the psychedelic class by wasting resources on flights of fancy and excessively flamboyant and ostentatious airport ceremonies. The social media caught fire last Monday as the pictures of our Brigade of Guards in Scottish kilt fully piped up welcomed the President on his arrival from his Middle East tour went viral. Such frivolity did not reflect the mood of the nation. The President’s winning formula had always been his simplicity, humility and childlike innocence. He must resist the temptation of being corrupted by the carpetbaggers who litter our corridors of power. Running the different tiers of government has been a major drain on our economy. It is also the reason the citizens would not change their ways when government refuses to set good examples.

Everything humanly possible should be done to empower and encourage Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola to give us power. There will never be any meaningful development and progress until we can generate enough electricity and be able to transmit and distribute this effectively. When people shout that we should patronize made in Nigeria products they conveniently forget that most of what we use in making the made in Nigeria products were fabricated and made abroad. At best we are only an assembly line for these products. An average company loses its profit to what should have been provided ordinarily by government. I cannot begin to overemphasise the importance of electricity. Nigerians will never forget whoever can put an end to their life in perpetual darkness. It is worth every effort and investment.

It is heartening to note that there are those ready and willing to partner with Government at little or no cost to make our dire power situation a thing of the past using both conventional and sustainable energy solutions. All that seems to be required is for government to discard any policy that would be a stumbling block to the utilisation of these opportunities. Nothing must be seen as set in stone. National development requires not only flexibility but a willingness to think outside the box. It is time to seize the moment.

In the name of God, we must revamp our educational institutions. It is disgraceful that we watched them collapse and we have refused to do anything tangible to bring them back to par with their counterparts elsewhere. The APC should tell and demonstrate in concrete terms what it intends to do to restore the lost glory of our schools from primary to tertiary institutions. Mercifully, the Vice President comes from a scholarly background and hopefully should be able to activate and actualize what the former President Goodluck Jonathan, himself an academic, could not achieve in the five years he spent as substantive number one citizen of Nigeria.
Without quality education, most of our graduates would never be employed or even become employable. Our school curriculum must now be redesigned in such a way that it can be relevant to the needs and requirements of our tough situations. Entrepreneurship should become a compulsory subject. This is why we must commend and recommend the great initiative by Tony Elumelu’s foundation that seeks to locate and situate hidden talents and future captains of industry. Innovation and inventiveness must be encouraged.

There are Nigerians undertaking breathtaking research in many fields of human endeavour within the hallowed precincts of our university communities but they do not have the financial muscle or government encouragement and backing to be able to bring their dreams into reality. Great nations are made from developing such talents. Research and development (R & D) is the way to go. Most of our manufacturing companies hardly have any such viable R & D departments. Incentives must be given to all concerned, including funding and tax initiatives, so that our nation may truly enter the industrialised comity of nations and not just pretend that we are better than mere panel beaters!

Yes, it is time for APC and the Government to set their priorities again but this must be done with a sense of purpose and a desire to take the people to a higher level. May God help them.

Ex-President's ADC released

Former president Goodluck Jonathan's ex-aide-de-camp (ADC), Ojugbane Adegbe, has been released.
Adegbe was arrested on February 11 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and later transferred to the custody of the Nigerian army.

He was picked up in connection with the distribution of N10 billion to delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the 2015 general elections.

The funds is believed to be from the controversial $2.1 billion meant for arms procurement for the military to fight insurgency.

Confirming his release, Adegbe's counsel, Ogwu Onoja , said he was freed today, March 4, following the Tuesday order of Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal High court, Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the newly crowned Olubadan, Saliu Adetunji to work diligently for peace and development of Ibadan and Oyo State.
