Travel Destinations in Africa

Adventure Travel Destinations in Africa
These are my top five countries to visit… in Africa.

South Africa

South Africa (aerial)
South Africa boasts of being the host of the 2010 World Cup and being the home of the late Nelson Mandela. This land of mountains and seas is also home to a lot of ‘jungle animals’ and the Vuvuzela. Also, who wouldn’t want to visit the country where they use clicks as part of the language?! I want to learn!

Ghana

Accra, Ghana
Land of gold and shea butter.
Land of beautiful dark skinned men.
Who wouldn’t want to visit thee, O Ghana? Perhaps some Nigerians, but I don’t believe that there is any ‘beef’ whatsoever between Nigerians and Ghanaians so that notion is void.
Fun fact: There is a man-made beach in Ghana. How do I know, you ask? A friend told me.

Madagascar

Madagascar is not only the title of an animated movie, but also a country in the southern region of Africa.

Egypt

The Pyramids, The Sphinx, camel rides and baking hot sun. Not to talk of getting that ultimate tan… Or sunburnt skin.

Abuja, Nigeria

Aso:Zuma
Some Nigerians wouldn’t put this on their list but it has always been a dream of mine to visit as many parts of Nigeria as possible.
Aso Rock is one of the many places that caught my eye (thanks to my parents’ photo albums from before I was born) and best thing about it is, because I’m home, I won’t need to spend on lodging. Yay!

Comment below what parts of Africa you’ve been to (good and not quite as good) and places that you would like to visit.

If Your Guy Has These 10 Qualities, Don’t Ever Lose Him

Here’s a list of 10 universal good-guy qualities that can help get you started.

1. He’s kind to everyone.
Not just you on your best day but you on your worst. Same goes for the waiter who brought the wrong appetizer, his coworkers, his family (and yours), and pretty much everyone. Someone who is genuinely kind spreads kindness wherever he goes.
2. He’s genuinely happy.
A happy person is not only a healthy person but also someone who is optimistic and fulfilled. Who wouldn’t love a life with someone like that?
3. He loves you.
Yeah, I know, duh. But I mean the real you. Not just the way you look or the things you do for him or the fact that you are conveniently 4 inches shorter, also love staying in on Friday nights, and get along with his family.
He must love the unique things about you, like how you’re always 30 minutes late to everything, how you put exactly three lemons in all your drinks, the long-winded way you tell a story, or how you always need the toilet paper roll so that the top flap faces down.
5. He makes you smile.
When you’re with him, and when you think about him.
6. You can be yourself around him.
No matter how much you might be into someone, it’s never going to be real until you can let down your guard around him.
7. He’s the only one you fantasize about.
8. He spends like you.
A guy who’s on board to make your fantasy tour-de-France vacation a reality? Fantastic. A guy who then complains about every dollar you want to spend on said trip? No bien.
If springing for the good rosé and staying in a schmance hotel is your idea of fun, you need a guy that gets it. Money is the root of a lot of relationship issues, so being on the same page about spending is crucial.
9. He doesn’t put up with your crap.
Whether it’s yelling instead of talking, being passive-aggressive when you’re upset, or some sort of family/work issue you’re taking out on him. He knows your patterns and not only talks to you about them kindly but offers support when and where you need it.
Someone who can see you to your very core, accepts your flaws, and only wants to help you be a better person? That’s love.
10. He puts you first.
When it comes down to it, you are the No. 1 most important person in his life, and there are no questions about that.
If his friends want to do a guy’s weekend in Vegas, he says no because he’s got a good thing going with you, doesn’t want to get into trouble, and knows it will mean missing that concert you really want to go to. And if his mom hates the wallpaper you chose for your first apartment together, you’ll never find out, because he tells her if you’re happy, he’s happy, and that’s the end of it.

3 Major Side Effects Of Wearing Girdle

Before I start, I would love to say, guys/men I am sorry this post might not be for you. But you help share this post with your sister/friend/girlfriend/fiancée/wife/mother.

Back to the post. Girdle is an undergarment mostly worn by girls/ladies/women. Girdle helps to keep the body intact when worn with clothes. Intact means, it helps keep ones laps and buttocks from being all over the place when they walk i,e it helps keep your body in order when you move.
This makes a woman appear presentable and put together in whatever she wears.

Girdle is mostly worn by curvy and plus sized women, which of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with.

Girdle is really a very helpful undergarment. It prevents embarrassments, harassments from ill mannered men etc. However the side effects are grave. Kindly find below, 3 major side effects of wearing girdle

1) The regular (please note the word regular) wearing of girdle results in one having bladder problems.
How is this possible? Girdle presses the bladder which makes one to frequently go to urinate and if care is not taken, one gets to have bladder problems which is a whole different story all together.

This is why it is advised, that whenever you are eating or drinking water (or any other thing) you should always remove your girdle. But the question now is, for how long will you continue to remove your girdle before you start eating or drinking? Does that mean that when you are in public or in the office or in a ceremony amongst others you shouldn't eat or drink?

2) When one eats with girdle on, the food goes straight to the legs, causing one to have fat legs.

3) As stated in number 1, that girdle presses the bladder and makes one have the tendency of constantly urinating. In cases where you cannot quickly use the toilet or when you hold urine for long (which of course is VERY bad) with girdle on, as time goes on, one's legs and feet begins to swell beyond normal, making your legs heavy thereby preventing you from conveying yourself from one place to another with ease.

In business, it is always advisable to invest in something that the benefit is more than the cost, if not you will suffer a great loss. Same goes to wearing girdle. If wearing girdle will cost you more than what you will benefit from it, will it not be a good idea to cease from wearing it?
Many might ask, ''so what do you expect us to wear? or Is there any other alternative?'' The answer is YES, there are alternatives. You can wear tights or undergarments that do not compress your stomach/bladder.

5 Quick Makeup tips for the Working Woman

5 Quick Makeup tips for the Working Woman
Working a full time job and having to wake up extra early to face the day’s traffic can be burdensome. However, this article is written to ease the burden of our daily makeup ritual. The very first process to aide this  is having a good skin care routine. Moisturizing and exfoliating your skin cannot be overly stressed. Below are listed makeup tips to note.

Moisturize

Moisturize your face after bathing to ensure your face maintains its softness. The application of sunscreen is essential to block the harmful rays during the day.

Less is More

For ladies with oily faces apply a little foundation same shade as your skin tone, it is advised to apply a matte finish foundation so as to ensure your face does not run (get oily) before the end of the day. For ladies with dry skin however, application of your daily powder does the trick.
The Eyeliner & Mascara
To wake up those eyes apply a little white eyeliner to the inner rim of your eyes; it’s best to use a neutral shade of eyeshadow. Finish off the look with a coat or two of black or clear mascara.

The Lips

Wanna go bold or natural on your lips? If you want a more bold lip it is advised to ease up on the eye makeup, but if you want your lips more natural use a nude lip colour or light pink lipstick shade. With the nude lips you can go all out on your eyes.

Little Blush

Finish off the look by applying a little blush to the hollow of your cheeks. Go with subtle colours that compliment your skin tone.
This may seem like a lot but it takes less than 10-15 mins to accomplish enough time to put on those heels! Now tell us, what other tip do you use to maintain your shine?
Cheers!

Inspire Your Travel Senses

Inspire Your Travel Senses
Now, my prayer and hope is that after graduating from university, I will bag a job that allows me to travel. Or at least pays enough for me to travel wherever I wish to go to.
Following this interest of mine, I discovered and followed certain Instagram accounts that allow me to see others fulfilling their desires and fuel me to chase mine.
So here we go:

Black Adventuristas: @blackadventuristas

black adventuristas

This account is catered towards black women who travel far and wide, doing things that they dream of.
They also repost followers’ pictures for the benefit of others as an incentive for more to be seen and done.

Hostel World: @hostelworld

HostelWorld

Hostel World is a website that provides services for travellers to stay in accommodation for a cheaper price thereby meeting new people and making new friends.

Yagazie Emezi: @yagazieemezi

If you do not know who she is or you aren’t already following Yagazie’s Instagram account, it is safe to say that are living under a rock.
Yagazie’s account is full of photographs of her travels and as a bonus, her witty cartoon series (I promise you, they are funny) as well as other things that she posts.
She also runs a separate account called Bialere (@bialere) which focuses on young African photographers and aims to exhibit their pieces to the public.

Humans of New York: @humansofny

hony

The Humans of New York account is mostly focused on, you guessed it, the humans of New York (clap for yourself) but it sometimes features other countries exclusively. The man behind the account, Brandon Stanton, photographs the residents of the different parts of New York and interviews then informally, after which he captions the posted photograph with excerpts of the interview.

Humans of Lagos: @thehumansoflagos

holagos

This article will not be complete without stating the Humans of Lagos account. It would be unfair of me to mention the American one and leave its Nigerian counterpart behind.
So this account basically does what the American one does, but with a Nigerian twist.
As a Nigerian living in another country, this account allows me to connect with my country again, it allows me to pick up different slang and to reach back into memory.
So if you like what you see, follow these accounts. I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
Yours Truly.

The 21st Century Youth - by TAZ

https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS_WO6qCTVAK0KNJ4VV8Rw0fXzp1QCtLfHeNf7TQMnD9nZ0ib7MEg
We live in a time when most
people exhibit the modern slave characteristics. Most people want other people to do what they want, how the want and when they want. I once was at a public gathering and watched how youths were being tossed back and forth with commands that were not long lasting, that really brought out the true nature of many who were standing, those who were speaking English before switched to pidgin while others who had been forcing themselves to stay put finally exploded. It became the tussle of the century as quarrels and unimaginable anger swept over the area_something to think about, isn't it? As this continued, the officials where offering further instructions other than understandable explanation, which got me to ask myself; "what has education done to this people?", they were just going on and on about what they knew and we didn't. And all these such happenings and more continued for about 3hrs.
Bottom line: youths don't want to be forced to do things, they don't want to be made to do things, the don't want to feel subjective. The word inferiority is not in their thesaurus, why? Because they are individuals who want to seized the moment. If you wish to reach to a point of agreement with a youth, be quiet and listen to him or her, after which you can offer your candid and "wise" advice and suggestions.
Anybody who can touch the heart of a youth has more than just the youth but his/her friends, and company.
Youths are individuals that want to be understood not bossed around and used.
Now I am not saying the chain of respect between youths and adults should be disregarded, but rather that adults should walk beside them (not many adults understand this). Imagine what the world would be like if we had a good and prominent youth-adult rapport?
Maybe when that time comes, it would be easier for youths to accept the statement adults make when they say things along the lines of "Don't worry I understand how you feel" or "I might be of help".
Now, just for the record, this is my own medium of expression. I am not saying you should suck it up but if you have read this far, you are certainly going to meditate over this from now henceforth. Thank you for your time. smile emoticon

Peculiarities Of Nigerian Fashion

It would not be a surprise for anyone if one day Nigeria becomes the world fashion trendsetter. Nigerians have that natural feel of style, spiced up by national colouring.
Naij.com has taken photos of Nigerian street style hunters and tried to identify what is so special about Naija men and women that creates that touch of magic…
We are not afraid to experiment with forms. While some worry about what prints make one look slimmer or vice versa, Nigerian girls just try it on (and probably check the reactions of the guys passing by).
We take pride in our National motifs . Heritage is not something that should be left in the past, but something to be implemented for the future generations to know and respect their culture.
This one is another example to prove the previous point. Authentic “things” – not only in the original interpretation, but also in casual style. Who would not rock this cool outfit in the streets of Berlin, New York or Paris! Swag, they say?
Bright colours all over the place. Still, they seem in order. Probably, a Nigerian would be surprised to see a woman dressed in grey rather than “a rainbow lady”.
We know how to rock big, no, huge accessories. Wooden, bling-bling, gold-plate; bracelets, rings, ear-rings. Anything. It simply works (even everything taken together).
African hair styles fashion is a lasting one. Afro bunches, dreadlocks, cornrows, various kinds of braids – this is a unique moment when the hairdo tells its own story.
Watch and sunglasses. Both have become something more than simply items to protect one from the Sun and show one the time. Don’t be surprised to see a Nigerian wearing dark glasses in a dark room. And remember: never ever try to make him take them off.
Seriously though, there are so many wonderful things that we come across on a daily basis but still do not notice. It is high time to start rocking the Nigerian style. Because it is worth it.
